PROGRAM AREAS
Crisis Support / BreezeWay provides a substantial, hot nutritional two course midday meal every day of the year for people who are marginalised, homeless, living in insecure accommodation and/or have no cooking facilities.
Emergency Relief assists those in need with grocery assistance.
SNAP (Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program) is a grocery support program, whereby groceries are packed and ready for collection by those in need.
Community Visitors Scheme / Community Visitors Scheme allows volunteers to befriend residents in aged care homes whose quality of life would be improved by friendship from a visitor.
Community Transport / Community Transport provides door-to-door support services for frail aged people or those who have a disAbility and their carers. Clients are taken to medical appointments, shopping, to visit friends or relatives.
Do Care / Do Care is one-to-one matching of a volunteer with a frail aged, or person who has a disAbility, who live independently in their own home and experience social isolation. Do Care assists individuals to improve confidence and become involved in their community, by providing regular outings and social activities.
Nibble & Natter / Nibble & Natter is a social group that enjoys regular afternoon teas together at a local venue. It assists individuals to continue involvement and remain socially connected to their community.
Residential Services Visiting Program (RSVP) / RSVP offers social support to socially isolated pension-only residents living in Supported Residential Services (SRS) facilities, whom are frail aged, have a disAbility, and are often financially disadvantaged. This is achieved by conducting regular bus trips, in-house activities and one-to-one and group visiting.
Lifeline / Lifeline is a 24 hour confidential telephone crisis support and referral service. All Lifeline volunteers must successfully complete a nationally recognised Lifeline Crisis Supporter Workplace Training program at a subsidised cost prior to becoming a Lifeline volunteer.
Tabor House / Tabor House is an Alcohol & Other Drug clinical withdrawal service for young people aged between 12 and 25. Tabor House provides evidence based treatment, support and education for young people to complete the withdrawal program.
Shops / UnitingCare Ballarat operates three diverse retail shops and one warehouse. They exist to help people in need and to help raise funds to continue our non-government funded programs.
Kindergartens / UnitingCare Ballarat is a registered cluster manager of five Kinders in Ballarat and district. Our Kinders offer both three year old and four year old sessions.
Events Committee / The Events Committee coordinates and supports events throughout the year to raise funds to support people in need, and create awareness.
