- Dialogue among delegations: How to strengthen implementation of CIFTA and foster cooperation and technical assistance to that end. Topics could include:
a.Measures states party could adopt for the fulfillment of Article VII.2 of CIFTA, including destruction and the hemispheric roster of confiscated firearms, ammunition, and explosives (Article VII. 2);
- Control mechanisms and security in the handling of firearms and explosives under CIFTA, especially for strengthening controls at points of import and export (Article X of CIFTA and Chapter III of the Declaration of Bogotá) and for the exchange of information among states (Article XIII, sections 1.a), b) and c) of CIFTA);
- Cooperation mechanisms for the exchange of information and specific cooperation projects through CIFTA’s “single points of contact” (Articles XIII and XIV);
- Guaranteeing the necessary financial resources for full implementation of CIFTA;
- Strengthening the Technical Secretariat of CIFTA with financial and human resources; and
- Strengthening law enforcement and customs agency cooperation for the purposes of CIFTA (Articles VIII, IX, X, XIV)
