Master Thesis Project at CEVT

Title: Simulation model development of Electric motor and controller

Subject: Simulation model development and Analysis

China Euro Vehicle Technology AB, CEVT, is a development centre for future cars of the Geely Group. CEVT covers all aspects of passenger car development – from the total architecture, powertrain and driveline components, to top hat engineering as well as the vehicles’ exterior design. The company is located in Gothenburg & Trollhättan and in Hangzhou & Cixi in China.

Background

The CAE department is responsible for all CAE within CEVT. CEVT’s goal is to simulate the complete vehicle in a virtual surrounding to shorten development time and save cost. These simulations are used primarily to provide a better basis for decisions regarding requirement setting and dimensioning. This thesis is a step in the development of the models that will be simulated.

Scope

The objectives of this thesis project are to

·  Develop a simple physical plant and a more sophisticated physical plant model for the electric motor and a simple controller unit and a more sophisticated controller unit that observes and controls the physical plant models.

·  Implement the physical plant models in Modelica and be both parametric and generalized. The controller shall be implemented in Simulink and be both parametric and generalized.

·  Develop a performance analysis method for the results.

·  Co-operate with other master thesis project teams at CEVT and other internal teams, e.g. battery cooling system, to integrate all parts to a complete simulation model for the hybrid system, running in a simulator.
