Vice Dean of Finance Harlan Sands thanked BAs for a successful year at Wharton, currently ranked first in the Forbes ranking of MBA programs.
Introductions
Quyen Le is the new BA for Grad Division; Erika Castillo is a new BA in the Leadership Program.
Human Capital Management Update
Julie Shuttleworth and Chris Blickley updated BAs on Workday@Penn, which will integrate, standardize, and optimize outdated systems including UMIS Payroll, PennWorks, and PTO. Full implementation is currently scheduled for January 2019.

Two-Step Password Program
John Singler and Dan Alig informed BAs that the University will be adopting two-step verification as of 11/14/17 to add to the security of the PennKey. There will be two events in October to help staff with enrollment, which is a single, simple process.

Financial Recap
Jim Quinn reviewed the year’s financial outcome, including growth in Executive Education and WRDS. Additional Student Aid funding is currently a major goal, and there are several large capital projects in the pipeline.
Audit Update and Lessons Learned
Denise Mount reviewed the current status of the FY17 Departmental Review audits and lessons learned. Future goals include process improvements such as monthly reconciliation and ways to strengthen Wharton’s internal financial controls. Enhanced financial training programs are recommended in various areas including sponsored research, gifts and endowments. The various travel and purchasing card usage is currently under review. BAs should receive their audit results by 11/15/17.

Announcements
Enhancements to the Penn Marketplace are currently in development. The intention is to provide greater visibility into the status of onboarding, invoicing, and payment transactions for both end users and suppliers. The enhancements will also include electronic processing of non-PO payments (PDAs) as well as approvals. Please refer to Penn Purchasing's site for more information.
E-Time Implementation should be complete by 12/31/17. Training sessions are scheduled for 10/5 and 11/7/17. Please email if you have questions.
