**The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is required to collect social security numbers from all persons obtaining a hunting, fishing, or other recreational license under section 252J.8 of the Code of Iowa and 42 US Code 666(a)(13). Your social security number will serve as your principal identification number to determine your eligibility for licenses. It will be provided to law enforcement agencies and the Iowa Child Support Collection Unit to establish, modify, and enforce child support obligations and to collect liabilities owed to the state or a state agency. It WILL NOT appear on your license.

Non-Resident Taxidermy / 26.00 or^ / ^OR the amount for the same type of license in the non-resident’s state, whichever is greater. Your state MUST have reciprocity with Iowa.

Payment may be made by check or money order payable to ‘Iowa DNR’ and mailed with the forms, or if faxed, payment may be made by credit card after the form is received by the DNR. To make a credit card payment, please contact the DNR at 515-725-8200.
A license is required for anyone performing taxidermy commercially. All specimens must be lawfully acquired, within season, and under proper license. All specimens must be tagged with the owner’s name, address, and date of kill. A federal taxidermy license is also required if migratory birds are to be mounted.
By signing below, I acknowledge and understand the rules and regulations regarding having this permit and realize that all transactions, tags, and specimens left in the custody of a taxidermist by another person shall be open to inspection by a conservation officer at any reasonable time. The Iowa laws can be found in Iowa Code Chapter 481A and the residency laws in Iowa Code Chapter 483A and Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 15.
