Meet ‘N Greet Newsletter

Hello families and welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. I look forward to continuing from where the students and I left off when summer school ended. Unlike during the summer, your child will be staying in my classroom for instruction and not rotating to the other fourth grade classrooms.

The rest of this letter will consist of two lists. One list will explain things that each student will be required to do before and throughout the year, while the other list will be to inform parents and guardians.

STUDENTS:

Come to school ready to do your job. Go to bed between eight and nine o’clock. Eat breakfast. Bring your backpack and all your work and supplies.

Wear your uniform with your shirt tucked in. Do not wear colorful clothing or nail polish(girls).

If you bring a snack, it MUST be healthy. Fruits, vegetables, crackers, granola bars, sandwiches, etc. are healthy snacks.

Complete all of your homework before the day it is due. Please learn a friend’s phone number so you can call them for help at night.

Follow rules and directions that are given to you by teachers.

PARENTS:

Make sure your child is prepared and able to accomplish everything that is on their list above.

Be a part of your child’s learning. If they ask you for help, please try to give them assistance. If you can’t help them, write me a note about what the problem was.

READ WITH YOUR CHILD EVERY DAY IF POSSIBLE. This will help them become better readers.

Communicate with me whenever necessary. My email and school phone number will be at the bottom of this letter.

Sign up for parent-teacher conferences early so you can make sure to get a spot. Conferences are crucial in assuring that school life and home life stay connected.

If you have any other questions, comments, or concerns, do not hesitate to call or email and ask me. (EMAIL ) (PHONE 414-643-6441)

Again, I would like to wish you all a healthy and happy start to the school year!

Sincerely,

Mr. Patterson
