Dear Parents,
Here’s what’s happening in Kindergarten…
Reading/Phonics: We are working on the student book for Unit 10 (F). This is where the children met the SuperkidFrits. Frits likes to go fishing. The children learned how to name and write the capital F and lowercase f. Following, they associated pictures with the initial /f/ sound. In addition, theywill continue topractice blending sounds to decode words.
Math: The children are on Topic 7 in math (subtraction). They are exploring and understanding subtraction by taking from. Later on in the month, the children will be applying what they already know about addition and subtraction, in Topic 8,to solve addition and subtraction word problems.
Religion: We are working on Chapter 22 (We Belong to the Church). During the chapter, the children learned that the Church is the family of God.Later on in the month, we will move on to Chapter 20 (Lent). During this chapter, the children will understand that Lent is the special time when the Church prays and cares for others. Also, they will learn that Lent is a special time to learn from Jesus.
Reminders:
- Please send a snack in a brown paper bag or plastic bag. Place it in your child’s schoolbag, not in their lunch-box. The children need snack every day, including pizza days.
- Please label all sweaters and sweatshirts.
- Please read with your child every day. Also, it is important to discuss the story with your child. For example, you can talk about the characters and what is happening in the story.
