Tremblay-en-France (France), March 2012 -- North Star Imaging (NSI), Rogers, Minnesota/USA (www.4nsi.com), one of the world’s largest and most experienced producers of systems for non-destructive testing of materials and parts using X-ray technology and computer tomography (CT), has now founded North Star Imaging Europe in Tremblay-en-France (20km from Paris). By establishing this European subsidiary, the company strengthens its ability in the region to advise and support existing and new customers, to supply inspection services, and to develop application specific solutions. To reach this goal, NSI Europe’s own employees for sales, technical support, and scanning / inspection experts will be supported by partners from other European countries.

NSI Europe will place emphasis on its 3D computed tomography systems and real time digital X-ray systems, capable of high resolutions down to hundreds of nanometers (submicron). Beyond this, NSI’s entire product range is now also available on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, from small bench top micro CT and X-ray system up to 600kV industrial inspection systems, for R&D applications as well as for production environments. Applications range from the pure quality inspection of parts for defect detection and analysis, to 3D high resolution metrology with internal and external surface scanning capabilities. NSI also designs and builds customized systems, tailored to individual needs in scanning envelop, resolution and speed. Examples include a huge helicopter blade digital X-ray system, or the first inline CT system capable of scanning, reconstructing and sorting parts in less than 6 seconds cycle time using an automatic defect recognition software.

Julien Noel, General Manager at North Star Imaging Europe, comments: “We aim to become an experienced and highly professional partner for our customers in this region, providing innovative and reliable solutions. We use the best components available, an unparalleled quality manufacturing process, and a reputable proprietary software suite 100% developed at NSI, from data acquisition to GPU reconstruction and 3D analysis. This places our CT and micro CT systems amongst the fastest, the easiest to use, and the most accurate in the market.” These facts and renowned customers such as Boeing, Toyota, Royal Institute of Sweden, Samsung, CEA, GlaxoSmithKline, NASA, Pratt & Whitney, Delphi, etc. have contributed to make NSI a strong player in the X-ray and CT inspection market with double digit revenue growth worldwide. Noel continues: “We expect to see a similar development also in Europe.”
