2018 Mosinee Mite Red Round Robin Game Rules:
- Games will be ½ ice-using the ½ ice boards. Full size nets.
- Games will be played 4 vs 4 (4 skaters and 1 goalie) with goalies in full gear.
- Each game will be three 12minute periods with 1.5 minutes between each period.
- Players will change on the fly every 90 seconds. Players must skate around their own net when changing on the fly, even if a skater(s) will remain on the ice, they must come back to skate around their own net.
- When goals are scored, the team that scored must retreat back and touch their own net before they are allowed to pressure the puck. The team that was scored on must get the puck out of the net and retreat around their own net before the before they can attach offensively.
- Should the goalie freeze the puck, players on the opposing team must retreat to “center ice” and allow the goalie to give the puck to their own team prior to attacking the puck.
- Score will be kept. Teams will be awarded 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and no points for a loss.
- In the event of a tie between teams at the completion of the “tournament,” the following will be assessed:
- First, goals against
- Second, goals scored
- If the tie still isn’t broken after goals against or goals scored, one 12 minute game will be played between the two teams.
- Participation medals will be awarded to all players.
- Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place.
** The Skills Competition is a TEAM skills competition. It is FREE and teams really have fun participating in it. There will be 2 competitions: relay race and shoot out (no goalies needed for the shoot out). Prizes will be given out for the top three teams in each competition.
