A Message from the Mahoning County Bar Association President…

Dear Members:

Our Mahoning County Bar Association appreciates your continued membership and support. The MCBA offers many benefits to its members and continues to provide leadership, support and services to our legal community.

This year, we are all lucky to have two new staff members in our MCBA office, Renee Kenneally and Linda Mikula. They are working hard to ensure that our MCBA office continues to run efficiently and smoothly. They are doing a wonderful job and are here to provide our association and its members with support and services that are beneficial to all of our legal practices. Please do not hesitate to contact them if you ever have any questions or need assistance from them or from any of our member attorneys. We are all part of this organization to support each other, and I thank each and every one of you for your continued support and contributions to the bench, the bar, and our community.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me or the staff at the bar office and we will do our best to assist you.

Thank you for continuing to make our bar association one of which I am proud to be a member!

Tracie L. Schmidt,

MCBA President

THANK YOU

A Message from the Mahoning County Bar Association Foundation

President…

Dear MCBA Members,

I hope this letter finds you happy, healthy and successful in your endeavors. As the 2017 fall season gets into full swing, the population of the MahoningValley looks forward to harvests, hunting, Halloween, haunted houses and hayrides. Unfortunately, for many individuals and families, it's not all pumpkin spice lattes and scones. Tragedy and hardship can affect everyone, including local lawyers. As you go about your daily business of helping clients and the community, I encourage you to remember that we have a mechanism to help our fellow lawyers in their times of need, the charitable arm of your bar association, the Mahoning County Bar Association Foundation.

The Mahoning County Bar Association Foundation has many purposes, but the most visible ones in recent years have been the awarding of scholarships to law school students at the bar association banquet and the funding of lunches for students at the law week banquet. I would like to assure our membership that the foundation actively pursues the accomplishment of its other purposes as well, including relieving, aiding and assisting lawyers from MahoningCounty that have become ill or incapacitated. To that end, many of you have received a letter from me soliciting donations to help one of our own in her time of need, Theresa Tolson.

Theresa was involved in a serious automobile/motorcycle accident that has required, and will still require, multiple surgeries. At this time, it is still unknown whether she will be able to walk again. This type of unforeseen need could arise for any of us, at any time. I ask that when you are paying your bar association dues, whether you have made a specific donation for Theresa or not, please consider making a general donation to the Mahoning County Bar Association Foundation. Our assistance to local attorneys can only be accomplished through your continuing support.

KrishnaJames, MCBA Foundation President
