We are pleased that you are considering St. David School as a place for your child to learn and grow. Our quiet and safe location is filled with committed teachers and staff that are dedicated to teaching the “entire” student. St. David students are not only taught academics, but are taught strong moral and spiritual values that they will carry with them throughout their lives. Our students receive all the encouragement and support they need in a warm, caring and family-like environment. We aim at allowing each student to realize and reach their full potential.

New students to St. David need the following documentation to meet the requirement of California School Health and Safety Codes and the Health and Safety Requirements of the Diocese of Oakland:
- Up-to-Date Childhood Immunizations
- Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test/No Risk Screening after age 4
- Health Examination within 6 months prior to Kindergarten entry
- Health Examination with 18 months prior to 1st grade entry
- Health Examination with 2 years of 2nd-8th grade entry
- Fill out the Report of Health Examination for School Entry form found at

- Turn in the application to the office with all the required documents.
- Set up a placement test for your child after turning in the application.
- After your child is screened, you will be notified regarding admission.

Application and Admission Policy 2015-2016
The Catholic schools in the Diocese of Oakland, mindful of their mission to be witnesses to the love of Christ for all, admit students of any race, color, and national and/or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the schools. The Catholic schools in the Diocese of Oakland do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and/or ethnic origin, age, sex, or disability in the administration of educational policies, scholarships, and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
Upon application, the following criteria are considered in the acceptance of pre-kindergarten through 8th grade applicants into St. David School.
Final determination of acceptance is made on the basis of whether or not St. David School will
meet the needs of the applicant. Decisions are final.
1. Results of the applicant’s readiness test.
2. Information obtained from the applicant’s present school.
3. Information obtained from the applicant’s completed application/attachments.
4. Availability of space in the grade to which the applicant is applying.
5. Additional Pre-kindergarten criteria:
a. Pre-kindergarten applicants must be three years old by date of entry.
b. Pre-kindergarten applicants must be independent in toileting.
6.Additional Kindergarten criteria:
a. Kindergarten applicants must be five (5) years old by September 1st.
b. Kindergarten applicants must demonstrate they are developmentally ready as determined by the screening test.
Students must show appropriate school readiness if their birthday is in the month of October.
Students who are not accepted to our Kindergarten program have the option of attending another Kindergarten program and re-applying for Kindergarten or 1st grade the following year. The priority for admission into St. David School for Pre-kindergarten through 8th grade applicants is as follows:
1. First priority will be given to families who are “practicing Catholics”, registered at St. David Parish.
2. Second priority will be given to families with students currently enrolled in St. David School who are “practicing Catholics”, regardless of parish; and families that are transferring from other Catholic schools that are “practicing Catholics“.
3. Third priority will be given to families who are “practicing Catholics”, regardless of parish.
4. Fourth priority will be given to families who are non-practicing Catholics or non-Catholics. "Practicing Catholic" is the evidence of desire for spiritual growth, practice of the faith, and faithful participation at Mass determined by the only available means, that is, the regular use of the contribution envelope or check. We are interested in a cooperative effort between parish, school, and family.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION 2015-2016
Registration Fees $225.00 (per student) *non-refundable
The Registration fee holds your enrollment to St. David School. It is non-refundable. It covers the diocese technology fee, student assessment fee, health costs, powerschool fee, and accreditation fee.
Capital Assessment Fee: $100.00 (per student)
All students are assessed a fee of $100 a year for the maintenance and upkeep of the school building and grounds.
Parents as Partners: 30 hours per family
Community is an important aspect of St. David School. “Parents as Partners” requires parents/guardians to support the school community through an established service program. Parents/Guardians are assessed a fee for service not completed.
Supply Fees: $25.00 All Students
Each family will be required to pay a $20 supply fee per student. $20 will go to the homeroom teacher to purchase supplies and learning materials used throughout the year.
Additional Fees
Other activities or services will require additional fees or donations throughout the school year.
- Music Fee (3rd grade): $12.00
- 1st Communion Fee (2nd grade): $50.00(books and Lifetouch Pictures)
- Graduation Fee (8th grade): $100.00 (gown rentals, class awards, & breakfast).
- Silent Auction $40 gift one month before auction takes places
- Fundraising Fees: all families are expected to help raise at least $300.00 throughout the year by participating in school fundraising activities or buy out the fundraising commitment for $250 at the beginning of the year.

Plan 1 does not require parent hours.
Plan 2 requires completion of 30 parent hours (parents not completing the parent hours are assessed $25 per hour not worked).
For the first two years at St. David School new families who are on Plan 2 are required to work the following minimum hours at each of the events list below, regardless of hours already worked:

*Total Cost to educate a student at St. David School is over $6,700.00. These costs include teacher salaries, benefits, utilities, building repairs, extended care fees, retirement, multiple insurances, diocese fees, social security, books, technology fees, custodial costs/supplies, and a handful of miscellaneous costs. Costs calculated with an estimated enrollment of 170 students.
Payment Plans
A. Once a year: payable at the opening of school- 3% discount given
B. Twice a year: payable in August and the end of January.
C. 10 Month Plan: August 1st - May 1st
*Monthly payments will not be accepted in the school office. Monthly payments must be made through the tuition collection company used by St. David School. Delinquent after the tenth of each month. Fee of $35.00 for late payment.
