BACKSTAGE PROCEDURES FOR RECTIAL
Upon arrival ALL dancers must enter through the front doors. Dancers will turn left to head to the dressing room. Odell Williamson auditorium has a very large room that we have rented for our dressing room/holding area. All dancers will stay in this room during the recital. Each class of young dancers will have a chaperone assigned to them in this room. This allows the parents to watch the show comfortably from the audience. If your child will not stay with their class without a parent you may volunteer to be the chaperone. Upon arrival each dancer, (company included) will need to check in at the desk in front of the dressing room. After checking in all younger classes will receive a lanyard with their name and dances on it. This allows the chaperone to assist them properly. Each class will have an assigned spot in the room; Runners will help assist the dancers to find their assigned area. Only chaperones will be allowed in the dressing room once the show starts. Parents will pick their children up on stage after the finale.
NO DANCERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE AUDIENCE AT ANY TIME
If you have a child with multiple dances and need to be in the dressing room with them, you can be a chaperone will be allowed to watch your child’s dance from the backstage. You will not be allowed to continually run back and forth in the audience. We want to keep this a professional show and people getting up every number and walking around keeps the next parent from seeing their child. Please be respectful of this rule, think how you would feel if someone blocked your view to your child. If you have to use the bathroom during the show the doors will only open in between dance numbers.
Once the finale is over all dancers will stay on stage until their parent picks them up. Please do not send someone your teacher is not familiar with we will not release the children unless we know who they are.
