COMPUTER USE POLICY

Students are responsible for the use and care of their designated computer. They will be held responsible for damage to the computers, much like they would with a text book.

COURSE RATIONALE

Computer Programming is a one-semester course offered for grades 9-12 to students that have completed Algebra 1 or its equivalent with a minimum grade of “C” or teacher approval. The course will introduce students to the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer programming. Students will also develop skills in information processing, problem solving, personal computer use, independent and cooperative work habits, and understand the capabilities and limitations of computers and programming. This is an excellent course in preparation for the AP Computer Science course, as students will be introduced to AP concepts such as object oriented programming and the use of classes.

To help students and parents have a better understanding of class expectations, I have prepared this outline of course objectives, requirements, and classroom rules. Please read it carefully. Parents with any questions should please feel free to contact me at school(577-1400) or via email. Students will keep this plan in their classroom folders.
