HOST:Cardinal Community Swim Club (CARD)
LOCATION:Muncie Central High School, 801 North Walnut, Muncie, IN
FACILITY:Short course, 25-yard pool, six lanes with non- turbulent lane markers. Daktronics Timing System with a 6 lane display. Starting blocks are located in the deep end which is 12 feet. All eight and under 25’s except for backstroke will start in the deep end and go by digital watch times. Eight and under relay starts in the shallow end will start in the water. Spectator seating located above pool.
The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4).
ELIGIBILITY:Swimmer(s) must be registered with USA Swimming to be accepted into this meet. Age as of December 1, 2017 shall determine the swimmer’s age for the entire meet. Indiana Swimming does not process on- site memberships.
RULES:Current USA Swimming and Indiana Swimming rules will govern this meet.
At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee may assist the athlete in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer’s responsibility to make such arrangements prior to the start of the meet.
Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms or locker rooms.
Deck changes are prohibited.
Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open-ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. Exceptions may be arranged with prior written approval by the Program Operations Vice Chair.
The water depth at the start end of the pool is 12 feet. The water depth at the turn end of the pool is 3 feet 6 inches. Any start in the shallow end will have to start in the water. Information about water depth measured for a distance of 3 feet 3 ½ inches (1.0 meter) to 16 feet 5 inches (5.0 meters) from both end walls. (Please reference 103.2.3. Pools with a depth of less than 4 feet at starting end, cannot use starting blocks).
A complete schedule of lanes and times for all warm-up procedures, which must be adhered to by all participants, will be posted at the facility during meet.
It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.
Coaches and Officials MUST constantly display their current USA Swimming coach credential of Deck Pass to gain deck access. The meet referee and/or meet director reserves the right to ask for coach credential or Deck Pass and/or deny deck access if coach does not comply or card is no longer valid/current.
In swimming competitions, the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces except as provided in USA Swimming rule 205.10.1. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials. For men, the swimsuit shall not extend above the navel nor below the knees, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below the knee.
Fly over starts may be used at the discretion of the meet referee.
ENTRIES:All times not entered in short course yards will be converted to short course yards by Hy-Tek’s Meet Manager.
Hy-Tek Team Manager or similar meet entry file will be accepted by e-mail. Any club with 5 or more swimmers with individual events MUST submit an accepted entry file, or pay a $50 data input fee.
A printed copy of your entry is not necessary as the electronic data (i.e. the HyTek file) will be considered CORRECT.
Enter each swimmer with their first and last names with middle initial, age, and USA number.
We will accept “No times”.
NO PHONE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
ENTRY LIMIT:Swimmers may enter Five (5) individual events per day plus relays. Entries submitted with an individual entered in more events than allowed will be placed in the first events entered in numerical order. Friday events may be limited to keep a reasonable timeline. Also, the 1650 Free may be limited to two heats depending on the meets timeline. If a swimmer is cut because of a timeline problem, they may be placed back into the meet if there is a scratch. CARD reserves the right to limit the number of swimmers in any one or more events to maintain a reasonable length of the meet. In the event that entries are limited, CARD will return the entry fees to the club(s) whose swimmers are not allowed to compete in the specific event(s). Otherwise, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.
ENTRY FEES:$4.00 per individual event
$6.00per relay
There is a $2.00 per swimmer surcharged assessed by Indiana Swimming.
Deck entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Meet Director if the meet is not filled. Entry fee for deck entries is $8.00 for an individual and $12.00 for a relay.
All entry fees must be paidto the Entry Chair prior to your team’s first session.

Entry deadline is November 20, 2017.
The deadline will be extended to November 27, 2017 if the meet is not full.

Any necessary phone calls to the meet entry chair or meet director must be limited to those made by either the coach or the club official submitting the entry.

CHECK-IN:All swimmers MUST check in 45 minutes prior to the start of the session. Failure to do so may cause the swimmer to be scratched for day. Sign in sheets will be posted outside the pool area.
CLERK OF COURSE: Clerk of course WILL BE PROVIDED for 8 and under swimmers only.
Lane assignments will be posted and given to coaches.

Warm-ups for the afternoon sessions will last one hour and will begin immediately after the completion of the morning sessions but not before noon. Meet will resume 15 minutes after warm-up ends. Check-in comes down 45 minutes prior to start of the session)
AWARDS:Individual events:1st through 12th place
Relays:1st through 3rd place
Team Trophies will be given to the top 2 teams (excluding Cardinal Swim Club).
High Point Awards will be given to top three boys and girls in 6 and under, 7-8, 10 and under,11- 12 and 13 andover. Points will be awarded in the age group in which a child swims. (Example, an 8 year old swimming 10 and under will score points in the 10 and under age group).
The1650 will NOT be awarded points.
FINAL RESULTS:Hy-Tek Team Manager format final results will be emailed Sunday evening at the conclusion of the meet.
ADDITIONAL:Heat sheets will be for sale.
Concession stand will be available.
Swim merchandise will be available for sale.
Smoking is PROHIBITED anywhere on Muncie Central School grounds.
No glass containers are allowed in the pool area.
Locker rooms with shower and restroom are available. However, NO lockers are available.
Cardinal Community Swim Club WILL NOT be responsible for lost or stolen items.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in this swim meet, and for other good and valuable consideration, the undersigned for himself, his successors and assigns, hereby releases and forever discharges the host club, and its Board of Directors, USA Swimming, Indiana Swimming and each of their respective officers, agents, employees, members, successors and any other persons in any way connected with this meet, from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action of whatever kind of character arising out of or in connection with said event. Further the undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless the host club, USA Swimming, Indiana Swimming and the officers, trustees, agents, employees and members of the foregoing and all other persons in any way and claims arising out of or in connection with any injury, including death, or alleged injury of damage to property sustained or alleged to have sustained in connection with or to have arisen out of said event.
