Tootsie Roll Drive (aka: ID Drive)

Volunteer Reference Sheet

Thank you for volunteering to help the Knights of Columbus. We are collecting donations for people with Intellectual Disabilities. Our collections go to local charities that support this worthy cause.

Our base of operations for this drive is “Tootsie Roll Central” currently at the home of Jim & Joyce Manfre (847) 843-7673 (See address below).

All locations should have a Captain assigned. The Captain is responsible to provide and return supplies and money. Captains should call TR Central when supplies are needed. We have drivers to deliver supplies and pick up money. Captains should also make sure the busiest lanes on their corners are staffed. (There must be a minimum of 2 people working any corners).

If you get to your assigned location and there is no Captain or other volunteer and you need supplies please contact us at Tootsie Roll Central (Phone #s below). If you finish your shift and there is no one to collect your money please call us or bring it to TR Central.

At end of each shift there should be a new Captain & crew starting. Please wait for the new crew before you leave. If a new crew does not show up by 10 minutes after please call TR Central.

Please be respectful of our stores, and be very careful on the corners.

Walgreens has specifically asked us NOT to block their doors.

Please do not sell Tootsie Rolls in bulk (white box) during our Tootsie Roll drive.

If your collection location is a store it’s a good idea to throw a folding chair in your car just in case there isn’t one at the location when you get there.

Please, bring rain gear if appropriate. We will collect in the rain.
