Student Application

General Information for Completing Application

We are delighted that you are interested in applying for admission for Baylor's University for Young People (UYP). UYP is a summer enrichment program for students entering 1st through 12th grade. Students in grades 1st through 4th can attend the Problem Solving Camp and/or Perspectives . Students in grades 4th through 12th can attend one or both of the two week sessions of classes held on the Baylor campus. For more specific information or to see a catalog of last summer’s classes, please visit have enclosed an application for you to complete.

The application consists of five parts:

  1. Student Information (to be completed by you and/or your parents/guardians.)
  2. Student Product (to be supplied by you)
  3. Parent Survey (to be completed by your parents/guardians.)
  4. Teacher Survey and School Information Forms (to be completed by your teacher.)
  5. $15.00 application fee to cover the costs of processing the application.

All parts of the application must be on file in our office before your application will be reviewed by our admissions committee.

We do require that all students provide both an achievement test score and an aptitude (IQ) test score that have been taken within the last 2-3 years. If your school is unable to provide one or both of these scores, we provide testing for a fee. Call the Center at 254-710-2171 for further information or to schedule testing.

The Center does not have a set application deadline. Students can apply at anytime during the year. If you wish to attend UYP during the upcoming summer, it is advisable to have your completed application to our office between the first of April to endof Mayor before that year. If you have difficulty meeting this time frame, please go ahead and complete the application. We will make every effort to get it reviewed by the time classes begin. Please note that if accepted to UYP, there is no need to apply again. Registration information will automatically be mailed to you yearly.
