Organizational Behavior will cover the basic concepts and principles in the behavioral sciences, which can be applied to actual job situations. The manager's role in applying skills in problem

solving and human relations will be a central theme of this course. Readings will be supplemented by lectures, case studies, class discussion, small group exercises and instructional videos.

Course Objectives:

1. To increase students' understanding of Organizational Behavior concepts and how these concepts affect individual and organizational performance.

2. To have students develop insight on how organizational cultures impact managerial and employee behavior and decision making.

3. To increase students ability to assess the impact of their managerial behaviors on themselves and others.

4. To focus on several current Organizational Behavior issues, their causes and potential solutions Quality/Productivity, Business Ethics, and Organizational Change.

Grading: Case Assignments 30%

Final 35% (Tuesday, May 1, 6:309:00)

Expectations:

Students are expected to be prepared for class. Since the course schedule is subject to change, students should contact other students for updates and new assignments. Please hand in a current picture of yourself as soon as possible. Also, you should bring your "tent" card with your name to every class. Students who come in late or leave early during class should speak with me so we can minimize interruptions. Students are also expected to participate in class activities. This participation will be evaluated on the basis of quality and quantity of responses, the student's overall positive contribution to the learning process, preparation, and active listening.
