  • Rider 18 yrs and over riding a registered ASH
  • Horses must compete in all three qualifying events (1-3).
  • The 15* highest points scored over the 3 events will compete in the Campdraft (4).
  • The total points scored in the four events will define the final place getters.

Encouragement
  • Must not have won any challenge (except junior)
  • Riding a registered ASH
  • Final placings will be determined on Hack, Working and Time Trial sections ONLY

  • Rider under 18 yrs

  • There will be ONE HORSE ONE RIDER applied across all sections
  • Riders can enter more than one section on the same horse if eligible but will only ride each pattern only once.

  • All entries must be owned and competed by current Full or Youth financial members
    of the Australian Stock Horse Society Inc.

  • 70% of the entry money for each class will be divided among the first five placegetters.

  • No money will be refunded unless events are cancelled.
  • 3YO Futurity and 4YO Maturity will receive ribbons to 5th place in each section.

  • No replacement horses will be accepted.
  • Horse inspection will take place prior to the commencement of competition.

REGULATIONS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  • All people entering the grounds, competitors & handlers, do so at their own risk. Neither the organising committee nor the Australian Stock Horse Society Limited accept any liability for any accidents, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators or any person or property whatsoever.
  • Dogs – it is recommended that competitors leave their dogs at home but if they are in attendance, dogs must be securely restrained at all times.
  • Only members holding full, participatory or event (temporary) membership of the Australian Stock Horse Society Ltd. may participate.
  • ASH registered horses are eligible to compete in any class reserved for ASH as long as the registered owner is a Full or Youth financial member of the ASHS
  • Foal recorded ASH horses are not eligible to compete in classes reserved for ASH
  • Horses in the Futurities & Maturitywill have papers inspected against the exhibit prior to entering the ring.
  • Registration papers must be produced on request.
  • Where snaffle bits are indicated, horses not wearing a jointed snaffle will be asked to leave the ring.
  • The committee has the right to delete, defer or alter the program on the day, and classes may be moved to other rings at the discretion of the show committee.
  • No refunds will be given on unused tickets.
  • Colts/stallions two yrs and over to be shown with a bit and must be secured with a neck collar when tied up.
  • Colts/stallionsare not permitted for competition in youth events nor may they be exhibited by members under 18yrs.
  • Helmets. The wearing of helmets is recommended for all those competing in ridden classes. However, COMPETITORS UNDER 18YRS MUST wear a safety helmet that complies with AS/NZS 3838: at all times whilst handling or riding a horse in the confines of the showground
  • Unless otherwise stated, the one horse, one rider in each class rule applies for Youth riders.
  • Stockman’s Turnout – ASH Dress Attire. Equipment – Stock Saddle. ASH Saddle Cloth or similar, single reined leather bridle, snaffle bit. Spurs optional. Gear suggestion – Hobbles, oil skin coat, saddle bags, Quart pot and any appropriate items for a day’s working.
  • Station Hack must be ridden in a snaffle bit with ASH Attire
  • ASH Hack maybe ridden in English Attire
  • Novice Hack/HunterA horse remains a novice until it has won three novices or an open hack class at any show, open gymkhana, or similar event, except wins in youth, consolation or restricted age classes.
  • Novice Rider Arider remains a novice until he/she has won three novices or an open rider class at any show, open gymkhana, or similar event, except wins in youth and consolation classes
  • Encouragement (Challenge) Please see rules on the challenge page
  • Competitors must choose between Open Classes and Show Hunter Classes.
  • Pleasure Hack The horse must be ridden in a plain bridle with a snaffle bit. The rider must not wear spurs or carry a whip and the reins are held in one hand only.
  • Youth Ring. Junior ASH Members under 13 yrs may ride non ASH registered horses in accordance with ASH National Policy.
  • Youth Judging classes 1 – 3 will be run concurrently all competitors to be ready at 8.30 am for judging.
  • ASHLA – Must have current ASHLA membership
