Report by Daniel Charron,

Alternate Regional Vice-President

National Capital Regional Council (NCRC)

PSAC-NCR 2014Triennial Convention

This is a report of my activities as Alternate Regional Vice-President. We are still dealing with political challenges and it is an honour for me to carry out my mandate on PSAC National Capital Regional Council.

Due to the PSAC’s diversified structure, I am involved in union activities under various titles: Alternate REVP, member-at-large or National Vice-President-Equity for the Government Services Union and member of a bargaining team.

These are some of my activities and duties:

ü  Attended the NCRC Executive Retreat

ü  Facilitated the Stewards’ Symposium in Ottawa

ü  Attended the Human Rights School in Gatineau

ü  Represented the REVP at AGMs

ü  Participated in PSAC demonstrations

ü  Co-chaired the PSAC Triennial Convention General Resolutions Committee

ü  Sat as member of the PSAC Human Rights Committee

ü  Sat as member of the Royal Canadian Mint bargaining team

My priority is to remain available to listen to all members. Phone me or contact me by email if you have any question or need my support.

Having been elected AS member of the Royal Canadian Mint bargaining team for the sixth time, I have decided to focus my volunteer action on this extremely important mandate.

I want to focus on members and on a new collective agreement. This responsibility has been a driving force for me since 1990. I need to concentrate my energy on the employer’s attacks.

PRIORITY: Our sick leave must not be revoked by our employers.

Having been an elected member of the NCRC since 2004, I will now support other members who will sit as REVP or Alternate REVP.

I sincerely appreciate and recognize the work of NCRC officers and staff. All the cooperation I have received much exceeded my expectations.

Respectfully submitted,

Daniel Charron,

Alternate Regional Executive Vice-President
