PAUL J. SOLIS ELEMENTARY
DECEMBER NEWSLETTER
We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday. We have so much to be thankful for. I hope you were able to spend some quality time with your children. Children grow up so quickly. It is vital that you spend time with them and let them know how special they are. Show interest in their education, behavior, cares, and concerns. Children are our future and we must work together to ensure a bright and hopeful future for all of us.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE – School will be closed from December20thto January 5th School resumes on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.
INTERIM REPORTS – Your child should have received his/her interimfor the 2nd nine weeks. If your child has a “D” or “F” average in any promotional subject, please check with your child’s teacher for ways to help improve grades.
REMINDER TO PARENTS: Please make sure you bring your driver’s license and/or picture ID when coming to sign out your children. Also, remember that attendance counts from bell to bell and is marked in the computer daily by minutes and every minute your child misses from early checkouts is taken away from instructional time. Students with excessive absences will be required to attend a parental conference with an administrator. No child may be checked out after 3:15 PM. Just a reminder check outs do effect your child’s attendance. If your child attends an appointment please remember to get an excuse note.
EARLY ARRIVALS – Thanks to those parents who have read and responded to the Paul Solis Handbook on early arrivals. Teachers do not go on duty until 8:30 a.m., therefore, students cannot arrive before 8:30 a.m. Child care services are available.
