Santa Clara Swim Club has one of the richest traditions in the history of amateur sports. Donna de Varona, Don Schollander, Mark Spitz, Chris Von Saltza, and Pablo Morales have trained and competed for Santa Clara. The club has produced 51 Olympic gold medals, 17 silver, and 12 bronze during its proud history.
From the days of legendary coach George Haines to its current head coach, John Bitter, Santa Clara has remained committed to developing champions not just in the pool but in all walks of life. Discipline, sportsmanship, hard work, and team involvement are stressed throughout the program. Through the dedication of its swimmers, coaches, and parents, Santa Clara Swim Club carries on this tradition, continuing to contribute to the sport of swimming in the United States.
Santa Clara Swim Club is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors, with club membership made up of past and current SCSC parents. The ideal candidate will lead age group(s) on deck as a coach and administrator. In addition the candidate will be in charge of leading their group(s) dry land program, attend regular swim meets, and cover other training groups as the coaching staff needs. A strong background in competitive swimming and prior coaching experience is necessary.
This is a salaried position and includes workingweekends as needed. The salary will be based on experience and qualifications. The candidate will qualify for Healthcare benefits after a 90 probationary period.
Qualifications
•Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
•Available for both evening, morning and weekend practices.
•Certified ASCA Level 2 coach and at least 4 years of year round coaching experience.
•Attend all required coaches meetings and team builds. The candidate will also lead coaches meetings with their assistant coaches.
•Strong Knowledge of Team Unify and Hy-Tek; knowledge and ability to manage social media programs, ability to manage paperwork and other office-related tasks
•Current USA Swimming coach certifications should include CPR, Red Cross Lifeguard certification, First Aid, USA background check and Safe Sport Reliable Transportation
