What is the minimum balance for a Share Account (Savings)?

To open a savings account all you need is a minimum balance of $5.00

What is the minimum balance for a Share Draft Account (Checking)?

There is no minimum balance for a Share Draft account.

What is Overdraft Protection (ODP)?

ODP draws from your savings to cover funds that are not available in your checking. If you accidentally do not transfer funds to cover a transaction, ODP will automatically pull available funds from your savings to cover your transaction.

Is there a charge for overdraft protection?

There is a no charge for ODP.

What is Courtesy Pay?

Courtesy Pay saves you the embarrassment of having a Non-Sufficient Fund (NSF) check returned to a merchant and the additional cost of a second NSF fee charged by that merchant. Here’s how it works: if your personal checking account in good standing becomes overdrawn after full amount of item presented is not available in all other overdraft sources such as savings, joint, and personal overdraft line of credit, the credit union pays the overdrawn item(s), up to $500, and charges you a $20 fee per item. Then, upon receipt of your next deposit, the Courtesy Pay fee(s) and the amount of the overdrawn item(s) will be collected first from your account. Your checking account must be brought to a positive balance at least once within a 30-day period to maintain the Courtesy Pay protection privilege. If the account has not been brought current after the 45th day, your account will be closed.

Will I be charged for using an ATM?

There is no charge for using any of our ATMs or through the ATMs in our Co-Op Network

There are no charges to use online banking.

What is Bill Pay?

Bill pay is an easy, convenient and secure way to make payments to a business or a person. You can use it anytime anywhere. It saves you money because there are never any checks to write, stamps to buy, or trips to the post office.

It saves all of your payees for easy payments, it will send you reminders of when a bill is coming due, and you can set s payment in advance for a future date as well as set up a recurring payment.

Is there a charge to use Bill Pay?

There are no charges to use Bill Pay.

Can I access mobile banking if I’m not signed up for online banking?

No. You must set up your security questions and features and accept the online banking agreement.

Is Online Banking/Mobile Banking secure?

Yes! The Memphis City Employees Credit Union has MFA in place along with image recognition for Online banking. Only a registered device will allow you to access your mobile account.

If I am locked out of Online Banking, will I also be locked out of Mobile banking or Automated phone?

Yes. Since all of the systems are connected, if you are locked out of one you will be locked out of all.

How many devices can I access with Mobile Banking?

You can install the App on at least 10 mobile devices. You must obtain a unique four digit 1-time PIN for each device. That you will then place at the end of your password to register your device.

How do I get a 1-time PIN for my mobile device?

You must have an active email account registered with the Memphis City Employees Credit Union. The 1-time PIN will be emailed to you when you log into your device. If you need more than 1 PIN, you must call 901-321-1200 to reset your 1-time PIN for each device.
