ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS YOU MAY ASK THE COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE:
- What is the retention rate? (How many students return to campus after their freshman year?)
- What are the criteria for your honors or scholars programs?
- Do you have study abroad programs?
- Can you describe the dorms/dining halls?
- How many clubs and what types of clubs are available? Are club sports available?
- Is it a “commuter campus”? Or do most students live on campus?
- Do most students stay on campus on the weekends?
- Are students permitted to have a car on campus?
- Is it better to apply to a specific major or to apply as “undecided” if I’m not sure yet about my intended major?
- Do you always use the best ACT or SAT scores, or will you use my best sub-scores from different test dates?
- Do you award credit for AP scores?
- If I take an October test date, but send in my application now, will you still use those new scores when they are available? For admission and financial aid consideration?
- How are roommates selected? What if my roommate and I don’t get along?
- Should I send more than requested with my application materials like additional recommendation letters or additional essays?
- Does your college offer support services/tutoring for all students?
- Can I take classes outside of my major if I have other interests?
- What is the best way to contact you or your admissions office if I have more questions?
Remember to THANK the college admissions representative for his/her visit to SHS!
