Class:Math IIThe skills in Math II are very sequential. It is imperative that students have a mastery of general objectives to proceed to subsequent topics. I believe that all students can learn Math II if they are willing to put forth an honest effort. Math II is a mixture of many different concepts

Homework Participation

Homework is to be turned in on the day that it is due. If you are absent, the assignment is due

on the day that you return. Homework may be graded for correctness and/or completeness.

Notebooks

Every student is required to keep a Geometry notebook. This notebook is used as an organizational tool to help students to work on organizing their notebooks and give them a check list of what they should have and where it should be. These are easy test grades and could make the difference between a C and a B for some students. The following things should be kept in your notebook

-Homework

-Quizzes

-Tests

-Notes

-Graphic Organizers

Calling Home

I am a firm believer of staying in contact with parents/guardians. I will call home if you have missed:

-missed 2 homework assignments

-missed 3 consecutive days of school

-changed behavior and/or working habits

due to something outside of school

On a positive note, I LOVE to call home with good news. I think it’s very important that your parents are aware of your outstanding progress in class. You can expect a call home whenever you are:

-working extremely hard

-making outstanding grades

-improving your grades

-great attitudes towards myself and other students

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

I’ve grown up in the classroom my entire life and knew from a young age I wanted to become a teacher. I love what I do and have an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm and passion for it. I come to school prepared and ready to give 100% every day and I expect the same from each of you. I have high expectations and I know that each of you is capable of giving me a 100% as I will do for you. There are a few things I have absolutely NO patience for; I will NOT tolerate anyone taking time away from students who are here to learn.

Therefore, you will be expected to:

1)Be kind and courteous to others

2)Come to class prepared and be on time

3)Keep the classroom clean

4)Follow directions and complete assignments on time

(LATE WORK WILL NOT BE GRADED!!!!)

5)Cell phones, I-pods, MP3/4 players digital cameras and other

electronic devices are NOT permitted!

6)NO Sagging

7)NO headwear/headscarf (this includes bonnets or hats!!!)

8)No halter-tops, spaghetti straps, or tops that expose the

midriff or cleavage

9)No tights, leggings, jeggings and or stretch pants

10) No Profanity

11) No Cheating of any kind!!

12) Make sure you put your name on all papers if not you will be

given a “0” ( I will not try to figure out whose paper is whose)

Consequences:

Choosing not to follow the class

expectations will result in the

following:

-Warning/talk one-to-one

-Call parent/guardian

-ISS or detention before or after school

-Write up, visit to the office

-Parent/teacher conference

-Points taken from participation grade

- “0” for participation grade/grade

* I reserve the right to add to and issue these consequences in any order that I see fit *

Make Up Work

When a student is absent they will have twoschool days to make up their work for each day they were absent. I will give the students any handouts that they missed, but the student is responsible for getting any notes (either from a friend or the teacher), making up tests and/or quizzes, and turning in any work that was due while they were gone.

Please review the schools attendance and tardy policies. A student missing 6 or more days in a block course will receive an F.
