Dear LWML Sisters in Christ:
Merry Christmas !!! Once again we have many opportunities to serve the Lord through our work with LWML. I realize that some of you are serving again as Presidents of your local society and have already been busy promoting our upcoming zone retreat that is planned for February 3-4, 2017. It will be held at the Spiritual Renewal Center in Victoria, Texas.
This year’s theme will be titled “Hope in a Troubled World - Trusting God’s Promises”. Ms. Lois Teinert will be our study leader. She is our outgoing District President and will be joining us in Victoria on the evening of February 3rd to begin our Bible Study. Her theme verses for our study will be Psalm 119 v 114.
The deadline for registration is January 23, 2017. Forms are to be sent to our Zone Treasurer, Beth Franke, at 130 North Harris, Bellville, Texas 77418. Her phone number is 361-343-1659. Registration is $100 for the weekend and includes an evening meal on Friday and Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday.
For those that can only attend Saturday, the fee is $75.00.
Use all of your available means of publicity such as the weekly church bulletin, or personal announcements after services to spread the word about the retreat. The key to effectiveness is to publicize this event as often as possible in as many ways as possible. Personal invitations are very effective.
I would especially ask that you encourage the young ladies and teen girls in your congregations to attend. What better way to instill in our youth a desire to hear God’s Word and enjoy fellowship with other believers and family than to attend this retreat.
Please remind everyone to bring their Bibles. Also bring any snacks that you may wish to eat Friday night and any favorite games you like to play. (cards, dominoes, and board games) Bedding is provided, however if you have a favorite pillow… feel free to bring it along.
There will be an additional email later that will contain a map to the Spiritual Renewal Center, a schedule of events with starting times, and information regarding our meals.
