Your Village Needs You!

The Parish Council has received notice of a planning application to build 48 houses adjacent to Great Lane and realistically we are very likely to have two further applications (or more). Each application will be dealt with separately by Melton Borough Council on its own merits.

YOUR VIEWSare needed on each application as it is submitted. Please write to, phone or email Melton Borough Council () with your views (by 17th September for the Great Lane site).

Please remember if you don’t respond it is deemed that you have no objection to the application.

The Parish Council also needs your views to inform their official response to the application. There will be a public meeting on Wednesday 31st August at the Frisby Village Hall at 7pm where you can express your views but comments can also be made to Sue Norledge

We suggest that these are the valid issues on which you might base your response:

  • ACCESSand TRAFFIC GENERATED

-Is there sufficient, convenient and safe, pedestrian and vehicle access to Great Lane and the A607 and to village amenities such as the pub, village hall and school?

  • LAND

-This is currently agricultural land with historical ridge and furrow which would be lost by this development.

  • IMPACT ON THE VILLAGE

-Loss of public visual amenity (views)

-Would this development detract from the character of the village with the loss of green space between Frisby and Kirby Bellars?

-The school is already at capacity and this development would exacerbate the problem.

-Would this site be a natural extension of the village? Situated where it is, would it encourage integration of new residents to the village community?

Information regarding this application will be available on the Parish Council Notice Board outside the Methodist Chapel. The papers can also be accessed on Melton Borough Council Website. The reference is 16/00491/OUT Residential Development - Land off Great Lane Frisby on the Wreake.
