2009 Senior Night

# 2: Austin Rhoades- Austin is the son of Brad and Tracy Rhoades. This is Austin’s 2nd year on the Varsity team, and 4th year in the baseball program. He was on the Varsity wrestling team for 4 years, and was on the State runner-up team in 2007. Austin is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club and the Young Republicans. Austin also received the prestigious Presidential Fellows Scholarship. Austin will continue his education at High Point University.

# 3: Nick Long- Nick is the son of Ken and Rita Long. This is Nick’s 2nd year on the Varsity baseball team. Nick also played 2 years on the JV team. Nick is in the Interact Club, Key Club, Senior’s Men Club and the famous West Wackos. Nick has been on the Honor Roll several times. Nick plans on continuing his education next year at Appalachian State University.

# 5: David Todd- David is the son of Doug and Annetta Todd. This is David’s 2nd year on the Varsity baseball team. David also played 2 years on the JV team. David is the Key Club president, and also in the National Honor Society. Last year David was awarded the Most Improved award on the Varsity team. David plans to continue his education at Clemson University next year, and major in mathematics.

#6: David Cook- David is the son of Kathy and Rudy Cook. This is David’s 2nd year on the Varsity team, and his 4th year in the baseball program. David is the editor for the Key Club, and is in the Red Cross Club. He is also a member of the West Wackos. David also has been on the Honor Roll several times at West. David plans on continuing his education and baseball career at Guilford College.

# 11: Tyler Coyle- Tyler is the son of Terry and Wanda Coyle. This is Tyler’s 2nd year on the Varsity team, and 4th year in the baseball program. Tyler was the MVP of the JV team in 2007, and was named all conference last year. Tyler will continue his education and baseball career, next year at UNC-Asheville.

# 12: Dustin Myers- Dustin is the son of Tina Myers and Rodale Thompson. This is Dustin’s 2nd year on the Varsity team. Dustin also played 2 years for the JV program. Dustin is a member of the Multi-cultural Society. He has been named as a Student of the Year. Dustin is continuing his education and baseball career at Lander University.

# 18: Justin Wall- Justin (J-Wall) is the son of Mark Wall and Leigh Blount. This is Justin’s 1st year on the Varsity team, and 3rd year in the program. Justin has been “self proclaimed” as the Funny Man of the South for 2009. Justin will continue his education at Western Carolina University.

Manager: Tim Dunn- Tim is the son of John and Kathy Dunn. Tim is the team manager. This is his 1st year involved in the baseball program at West. Tim has been a member of the wrestling program at West for 2 years. Tim was named “Most Dedicated” for the wrestling team. Tim was also named to the All Conference Team for wrestling. Tim is planning on continuing his education and wrestling career next year at UNC-Pembroke.

The baseball class of 2009 has compiled a record of 27-15. They won the 2008 WS/FC championship. They were conference runner up last year and made it to the state playoffs. All 8 seniors are planning on attending a 4 year college or university.

To all the seniors; the coaches would like to wish you good luck in all your future endeavors. We appreciate all of your hard work, dedication, and loyalty to West Forsyth, and the baseball program. To the parents; the coaches would like to thank you for all of your support and hard work.
