Old School Farewell Party May 10th 6:00 -9:00 pm
Welcome to our farewell party. We wanted to make this evening a fun and memorable evening for teachers, staff, students, and parents. Both current and former. We hope you enjoy your last memories in our old school and join us in welcoming our new school next fall. Please take the opportunity to visit all of our areas to help us raise funds for our wonderful PTO as well. Here’s what we are offering:
Picture with the Lion (6:00-8:30): Get your photo taken with our famous Lion who guards our school. The architects are not sure if he will make the move to the new school. As you can see he has many cracks and is not stable. For $5 (cash only) you will receive a 4x6 photo and frame to keep. Thanks to Otis Hamlett from Lifetouch for taking our photos this evening!
Orchestra Performance (6:00-6:30): Located outside the West Courtyard, enjoy music from our 6th grade strings, accompanied by some of our students from Mt. Sky to kick off the evening.
Evening Program (6:30-7:15): Join us in the cafeteria as we welcome everyone to our event and hear from current and former teachers about their days at Lookout. A Circle of Life montage will be shown to show pictures of former and current students who attend our school. We will also hear performances from our 5th grade choir that you will not want to miss. Word has it Lucille Ball and Mr. Ed make an appearance!
6th Grade Band Performance (7:30-8:00): The cafeteria is the place to hear our students who have worked so hard on giving a great performance this evening. They have 6 songs lined up for us to enjoy!
Presentation of “Let’s Make a Movie” Class (8:15-9:00): See the movie, Nightmare on Campus written, produced and directed by our own students and staff. This is a great place to end the evening after you have seen it all or the kids need to wind down!
Meet the Teacher (7:30-8:30): Room 210 is designated for you to come and say hello to your favorite teachers (current and past) and reminisce about your days in school.
Cake/Lemonade/Water (6:00-9:00): Located in the East Courtyard.
Memory Photobooks(6:00-9:00): Located just outside the cafeteria by Room 407. Stop by to see examples of a photobook of “Remembering Lookout Mountain”. Orders are being taken for a book you can keep to always remember your days at school as well as demolition and construction of our school. The proceeds will be given to PTO.
Playground Sand in a Bottle/DJ (6:00-8:30): Kids come on over and make your own playground sand to keep in a bottle with a ribbon to seal it up. For $5 (cash only) you will be able to get your sand and dance with the DJ all evening. Located in the back east side of school, at the playground of course!
Buy a Brick (6:00-9:00): Stop by and pick up information on how your memory can continue to live at our new school with our Buy a Brick Project. Funds raised will support our PTO and support the landscape efforts at our new school. Located on the northeast side of school.
Silent Auction (6:00-8:00): Wow! We have over 100 items donated from teachers and staff to auction off this time. Not your typical auction, these are all items from classrooms and teachers that have been donated. Remember that special chair, those wonderful little touches your teacher had, then this is what you need to buy to remember the classroom and school. We will also hold a raffle drawing at 7:30, so get your tickets! Located in the back courtyard behind the library.
Yearbook/Class Pictures Display (6:00-9:00): Stop by the library and find your photo in years past. This is a chance to look over those photos with your friends and classmates and remember the times you had and in some cases, those crazy outfits and the hairdos you had!!
Timeline Wall (6:00-9:00): Please sign our timeline wall and look at events and momentos from the past. Located in the hallways adjacent to the library, you can find the year you ‘graduated’ and sign your name. Leave your ‘mark’ before we leave the school!
Take a Peak (6:00-9:00): You can see how our new school is progressing by wandering down to the west side of the school and look thru the fence at the construction progress. We will have information on display to show plans for the school as well.
All times are estimates, subject to change. Please be sure and stop by our registration table to get a nametag if you are a current or former Teacher or student. Maps are available at the registration table.
All volunteers should check it at registration too if you need to know where we need you! Thanks for your help tonight!!!
