Faculty responsibilities include: student academic advisor, teach a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses, administer and coordinate advanced and foundation practicum placements. Serve on various committees, Chair the Human Behavior Sequence.

2007-2008 Assistant Director of Diversity Programs, University of Iowa. Office of Student Life. Iowa City, Iowa.

Manager and Director of the University of Iowa’s Cultural Centers. Supervised four graduate assistants. Responsible for the planning and implementation of the MLK Human Rights Week, Cultural Diversity Festival, and the Multi-Cultural Graduate Banquet. Managed the day to day operation of the Latino-Native American Cultural Center.

2006-2007 Assistant Director of Diversity and Training, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton Florida.

Advised and consulted on operational and fiscal activities of student organizations. Served as the assistant director of Training and Diversity. Served as the advisor/contact person for student organizations. Collaborated with campus departments in coordinating university-wide diversity awareness programs and activities. Represented the interests of the University in the use of resources to meet service and productivity demands within unit goals and budgets; strived to promote continual process and quality improvement.

2004-2006  Assistant Director of Field Education, Barry University, School of Social Work

Miami, Florida.

Oversee and provide Field Education Services within an assigned geographic area. Active and ongoing recruitment of field agencies including SNF and evaluation of eligibility Certification and re-certification of field placements (Vitas, Gardens Court, WPB Housing for the Elderly) Hospice of PBC, and “Just Checking” Medical Case Management for the Elderly). Procurement of required certification documentation in order to establish an agency file. Selection and training of field educators. Advisement, monitor and placement of interns in field agencies (Palm, lee, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee) counties.

2002-2005 Coordinator of Student Retention Services, Florida Metropolitan University

Oversee and coordinate the daily operation of the schools retention program.

Identify, intervene, and develop resources for “high-risk” students.

Implement services to assist student transition into college. Student advisor, re-entry coordinator, and supportive mental health counselor.

2000-2002 Director of Field Experiences and Student Teaching, SUNY at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, New York. Professional Education Program.
Collaborated with and advised program directors, faculty, staff, and students. Initiated creative mechanisms for the development of field placements and programs from multiple disciplines with a diverse population of students. Developed and coordinated on-campus field experiences. Performed activities for the development of partnerships with “High Need” school Districts. 3.  Other Contributions to Instructional Programs

·  Advanced Practicum Coordinator: Responsible for the monitoring, troubleshooting, and supervision of graduate students. Responsible for visits to area agencies throughout the academic year. Two visit per student in the fall and one visit per student in the spring, 2008-2011. Assist with the development of the practicum learning agreement. Review and evaluate all recommendations for final grades. Develop and facilitate the Practicum instructors training. Develop area agencies in the Ottumwa, Iowa region. Collaborate with the Director of Field Education in the selection, placement and training of all practicum instructors.

·  Coordinator of the Critical Cultural Competence Certificate Program: Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, approving and advising certificate participants. The coordinator approves each student’s course plan and coordinates with the student’s academic advisor to shape a study plan that complements their academic program and career interests. The program coordinator schedules required courses, recommends the sequence in which course work should be taken, and keeps a record of each student's progress.

Upon completion of the certificate, the program coordinator notifies the University Registrar, who records completion of the program on the student's transcript.

·  Outreach

Represent program in informational meetings; recruit prospective students in India

Provide ongoing contact with prospective students.

Extend School of Social Work’s emphasis on diversity and social justice to Iowa City/Johnson county region through use of class assignments to join students with area practitioners and community mobilizers. Examples include work with the Iowa City Sanctuary Project for Immigrant Justice and the Islamic Center of Iowa City Executive Committee.

Assist local agency (Crisis Center) with organizational cultural competency assessments, goal development and intervention in a effort increase efficiency and effectiveness with diverse clients. In addition, provide on-going cultural competency training to staff and volunteers.
