Walter Weinschenk, Esq. WFG National Title Insurance Company, Regional Underwriting Counsel, Chesapeake Region

Walter Weinschenk has devoted his career to the practice of law, real estate transactional work and title insurance underwriting. He has been actively engaged in both the residential and commercial areas of the title insurance industry and has served with distinction in various capacities including commercial counsel, underwriting attorney and commercial services manager. He has worked for other major national title insurance companies before coming to WFG National Title Insurance Company where he presently serves as Regional Underwriting Counsel, Chesapeake Region. During the course of his career, Walter has presided over myriad sales and financing transactions including the sale of shopping centers, race tracks, apartment complexes, farms, office buildings and mixed use projects. He has lectured and written about various real estate related topics including title insurance underwriting principles and procedures. Walter’s background includes having established his own title insurance agency in Rockville, Maryland and, in addition, he has engaged in the general practice of law.

Walter received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is licensed to practice before the Court of Appeals of Maryland. In addition to his attorney credential, Walter is a Certified Fraud Examiner. He and his wife reside in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

John P. Micciche, CLTP WFG National Title Insurance Company, Vice-President and Regional Manager

John P. Micciche, CLTP is a 30 year veteran of the title industry, with experience ranging from abstracting, residential and commercial examination/underwriting and closings, to managing agency operations for several major underwriters. John has served in an auditing capacity, as well as provided guidance in state and RESPA compliance issues, facilitating the formation of corporate entities, including Affiliated Business Arrangements. He has also been responsible for business development and customer support in both an agency and direct capacity.

John has served much of the network of title agents in Maryland as an Agency Representative, an Area Manager and a Regional Manager for various major underwriters. A regular instructor for the Maryland Land Title Association’s educational seminars, John has had several articles published in various trade periodicals. He chairs, has written and continues to teach a portion of the Association’s Pre-Licensing Course as well as other Continuing Education seminars. He serves as co-chair the Maryland Insurance Liaison Committee and (formerly) the Industry Enhancement Committee. John recently finished his term as Immediate Past President. He has also represented the industry as a guest on several radio talk shows dealing with title insurance topics.

John has also worked for the title industry in an advocating capacity by lobbying on both the state and Federal levels, in association with the MLTA and ALTA. John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy (Magna Cum Laude) from St. Hyacinth College and Seminary, and has received the designation, Certified Land Title Professional from the Maryland Land Title Association.
