Role Description:
The successful Designer/Project Manager will work closely with the rest of the team. There is significant opportunity to grow with the company in a supportive team environment. You’ll be more than just an Architectural Designer stuck in an office, you’ll be coordinating with crews and liaising with clients to see your designs through to the completed product. This role is ideal for an experienced designer/project manager ready to add value immediately or a recent graduate oozing potential and motivated to learn!
Major position accountabilities:
Architectural design and shop drawings Detailed material lists/development of building packages (e.g. framing components, roof packages, windows & doors)
Coordination with crew leads and clients on design and installation
The resource person on building code requirements
Focus on pre-fabrication and sustainable building principles and practices
Other work may include energy modelling, preparation of marketing materials, budgeting and assisting with set-ups
The company will expect from you:
A diploma or degree in Design or Architecture (or equivalent design experience)
Experience in timber design and green products
Proficient in CAD Works, REVIT, or similar and Sketchup
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
The following are additional assets:
Project management experience
LEED or Passive House certification
Formal carpentry training and/or on the job construction experience an asset
Experience in designing for prefabrication
