Transport Planner (Full-time)

Due to a growth in our client base and an increase in our provision of a Full Service Logistics Solution, we are seeking additional Planners to work in our Huddersfield Control Centre (HCC). Working a shift pattern that covers mornings, evenings, nights and weekends, our planners have direct responsibility for ensuring that all customers are supplied with fuel in the most safe and cost effective manner, whilst providing excellent customer service.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of in-house transport planning to move on to planning full third party logistics in a specialist sector of the industry.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

·  Using our planning software, prioritise and plan bulk fuel deliveries, ensuring that service levels are met in line with client specific KPI.

·  Demonstrate continuous improvement against various internal and external service/efficiency KPIs.

·  Understand the commercial mechanisms for each contract, and ensure that “The Plan” is structured in an efficient and cost effective manner so that the commercial requirements are met.

·  Maintain an awareness of customer stock levels in your region along with upcoming resource availability so that you are able to respond proactively to any foreseeable problems.

·  Liaise with the planning supervisor and field management team in order to ensure that resources are provided at the appropriate times and that downtime in resource is escalated and managed.

·  Assist the Customer Service Administrators in investigating customer complaints and delivery queries.

·  Work close with the despatch team in order to ensure that changes to the plan during the shift are effected quickly and accurately, and that the planning system is maintained “live” and that all data entered is accurate.

Requirements

Essential:

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the ideal candidate will:

·  Have experience of working in planning environment, (ideally in road haulage)

·  Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail

·  Be a team player who is able to work to individual and shared deadlines

·  Demonstrate proficiency in IT, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office Tools Outlook, Excel and Word

·  Have achieved a GCSE (or equivalent) Grade B or above Maths.

Desirable:

·  Knowledge of Drivers Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive
