· Referendum Update - Administrator Green shared information from the community meetings. These meetings have been well attended and good conversations have taken place. The concern is that the community thinks that they will not have to pay taxes if our referendum fails. An explanation was given and helpful, no matter what happens you will be paying taxes to a school district. You will always be paying taxes. The referendum committee still needs help with phone calls. They have two more meetings, one at Anita’s and one at the Town of Oakfield. It is very important to get the word out.
· Mr. Liebelt shared school activities including students going to state forensics, girls basketball team lost in regionals and the girls softball and boys baseball will be starting soon.
· Principal Witt shared the upcoming parent teacher conferences and those students that have been struggling will receive a letter in the mail.
· Principal Doyle shared the Dr. Seuss Celebration that the PBIS committee held for the students at the elementary school. Some events were bingo, reading café, relay races, art projects, and a movie. The fifth grade also presented at the Wall of Fame, WKCE results are back and the PTO is doing a dessert fundraiser.
· Administrator Green shared her attendance at the Federal Funding Conference, school nutrition, and discussion on the common core standards.
· Next school board meeting will be Monday, March 24, 2014 at the MS/HS at 5:30 pm.
· OAKS COMMUNITY CHAT – The Community Chat discussed referendum questions and concerns along with some questions on the RTI time at the MS/HS for the 2014-15 school year.
· President Kottke, seconded by Mrs. Patterson, moved to adjourn at 6:44. Motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 noes, 0 absent.
Respectfully submitted by:
Jackie Hungerford, School Board Secretary
