Dr Kaistha was welcomed to the meeting and the GP’s will beattending in future , time permitting.
Newsletter
Philippa has produced a Spring Newsletter which mainly highlighted the high rate of DNA appointments in the last 3 months. It was a staggering 93 man hours.
The group thought we should keep this item in all newsletters. The comments were that the newsletter said what it needed to say.
The patient leaflet has also been updated as has the handout smaller newsletter for “Mum’s and Dad’s”
Purchases
Peter Watson has a quote from Warsop Computers for a new PC . Estimated cost £799.00. The group were pleased with this and Pete will order .
John not present so no update on fridge or cabinet
Plan for Carers Event
Philippa had written up the plan for the future carers event .Issued to all.Still a work in progress.Sue says awaiting response from Leslie Watkins re retention of funds. Philippa to collate reply slips from newsletter then move to next stage.
Philippa suggested that we might like to include young carers and said she was sure the schools already do events so it might be nice if we approached the head and asked if the practice reps could go into school to an event to show that the GP Practice is always a listening ear and information is available..
Funding from Neighbourhood Renewal
As above
Update on Practice
The group were updated on events in practice. Dr Somasundram is now a partner, Sue Hall , practice nurse has reduced her hours to 15 per week and Mel Sturman has joined as our new practice nurse full time. Arron is now doing further training to become a HCA.
We have not yet had our CQC Visit but it will not be long. The purpose of the visit was explained to all.
The group were informed that our QOF score was higher than last year despite all the setbacks. This score is one of many indicators that show the good care that patients receive. The team worked really hard to ensure no one was compromised by our lack of a nurse for home visits.
A brief discussion was had regarding the future of the practice. Doctor asked re proposed building of many new houses in Warsop. How would this impact on services. Philippa said that as we have no official knowledge that this is happening and have had no contact from CCG regarding potential for the area to expand patient wise, we would have to wait and see.
The PPG Chairs Meeting 2nd June 1,00 PM- 3.15 PM and will be held in the Health Ed room.Volunteer was requested to attend as we have no chair. Both Geoff and Pete said they were willing to attend. Thank you
Philippa checked that she has all contact details for the members.
New members Recruitment
A discussion was had about the problem recruiting new members. Hilary suggested that a personal approach from members to friends and from PM to patients might have more success than our previous recruitment drives
