Founder / Senior Consultant

·  Created and established network training and consulting company providing high level network design, installation, and training services to major corporations.

·  Design Engineer and On-Site Lead for new Data Center build-out and turn-up. Project included design and build of data center core network, and migration of existing production servers to new data center.

·  Lead Architect/Design Authority for continent wide WAN routing redesign project. Incorporated multiple Carrier MPLS VPNs as WAN cloud technology to provide intelligent end to end QoS based bandwidth resources for future applications rollout while reducing IT operating costs substantially over the next 4 years.

·  Project Manager and Technical Lead for multiple projects for a National Cellular company, including WAN router / switch redesign to support QoS and MPLS.

·  Designed and installed VoIP, MPLS, switching, and routing networks. Carried out complete project management, from initial requirements development through implementation and testing to final post-sales support. Managed project budgets and negotiated contracts up to $2,000,000.

·  Designed and implemented an eight-site VoIP network for major aerospace company. Created new switching infrastructure for each site, including distributed call manager, Unity systems, and SRST backup systems.

·  Carried out design and implementation of 10-site VPN, fully-meshed convergence network for leading service provider.

·  Served as Team Leader on project to create multi-redundant LAN/WAN high-speed core network. Developed a four-building network interconnected through ONS optical switching. Built and installed eight 6500 core switch/routers and multiple 6500 distribution/edge routers.

·  Conduct Various Routing/Switching, BCN, CNR, CSRC and METRO Optical product training at sites nationwide. Lead Developer for Cisco’s METRO CCIP Optical Certification course.

Senior Network Engineer

·  Carried out network design, installation, and support for high visibility accounts, as well as performing Cisco technology and product training.

·  Served as liaison to clients regarding investigation and resolution of technical issues.

·  Lead Engineer for design and installation of Cisco optical network with more than 200 nodes. Carried out complete project management for network that connected over 50 separate areas, with each area including up to four OC-48 backbone rings and up to eight drop nodes per ring.

·  Played key role in the design and implementation of a 3,000-node VoIP network. Incorporated redundant Gatekeepers and seven clustered Cisco Call Manager domains with QoS.

·  Established and managed team of medium-level and high-level network engineers for national pre-sales engineering program and for Chicago and Milwaukee offices. Managed projects and administered project budgets up to $2.5 million.

·  Served as primary technical representative for client issue resolution, as well as for WAN switching, IP/SNA integration, IP telephony/convergence/voice over solution development.

·  Directed and performed multiple LAN/WAN network design, implementation, and support projects.

·  Designed and implemented new switched network core for About.com, including 6,500 LAN switches, 7,500 routers, and multiple load sharing devices. Incorporated maximum redundancy and redundant, load sharing, dual-homed connections to L1 and L2 ISP providers.

·  Built Cisco WAN Switching network for cellular service provider, including 12 WAN switching nodes and over 300 edge devices.

·  Created and installed three-site MAN ATM network, with SONET connection, for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Installed routing nodes at each site and between five and 20 ATM-connected edge closet switches.

·  Planned and carried out multi-node CIP implementation between two Blue Cross/Blue Shield organizations. Project included redundant connections to multiple hosts and between sites, minimizing downtime.

·  Designed ATM core network for R&D department of major software programming company. Incorporated ATM core switch, six ATM connected edge switches, and a centralized routing connection to production network.

·  Carried out total network design and developed implementation plan for a 500 routing node hierarchical IP routed network to replace an existing Banyan Vines network. Created WAN circuit and IP network layouts as well as equipment specifications. Formulated implementation, rollout, and conversion plans.

·  Facilitated redesign and enhancement of multi-node WAN switching solution for Midwest Electric.
