Daily Materials:

I have the right to mark your conduct card if these items are missing.

Expectations:

Be prepared to be an active learner and participant in this learning environment.
The learning environment will be a positive and respectful place where all can learn. Your behavior must meet this standard.
You are to bring a library book with you every day.

Things to Know:

Make-up work is due 2 days after returning from an absence. It will be counted as “late” if turned in after your allotted time. Please get work ahead of time for planned absences. It is the responsibility of the student to get missed work from the teacher and to turn it in by the agreed upon date.
Late work (any work turned in after I have collected it from the class) will receive an automatic 20% deduction. If the work is so late that we have moved on to a different unit of study, a 50% deduction will be taken.
Have a cleared desk and store materials under your desk and out of the walkways.
Water is allowed and welcomed in class. Absolutely NO GUM!
You are given three passes per semester. You MUST have your OWN agenda in order to use a pass (no agenda, no use of pass).

Accelerated Reading Requirements:

We will go to the library every two weeks to check out books. It is expected that every student has a library book at all times throughout the school year and is reading on a regular basis.
There will be fourAccelerated Reading (AR) tests assigned eachnine weeks- three of their choice and one non-fiction. Students must choose books within their reading level. It is expected that students read outside of class to complete this requirement.

Discipline Policy:

We will follow the school wide discipline policy with the use of the conduct card system.
