Spotters for LIVE Auction

Time: 8:30 to 10:00 pm Team Lead:

Spotter Duties:

Spotters will be issued a drum and will be responsible for spotting bidders, notifying the auctioneer when a paddle is raised to make a bid, by drumming to bring attention to that bidder. This volunteer must be willing to help increase bids by helping to create bidding wars and make it fun and festive if the opportunity presents itself.

Spotters must be:

ü  Loud and flamboyant

ü  Able to get the attention of the auctioneer as needed

ü  Able to get bidding wars going and encourage bidders to go on

ü  Able to make guests aware of registration, coat check, restrooms, the no host bar, and point out the silent auction tables

ü  Able to address any questions about the program or assist in making accommodations necessary to satisfy the guest prior to the event start

ü  Thank them for supporting the Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation

ü  Please return the wands to the volunteer room when the live auction and the bid a project is complete.

Volunteers should be:

ü  Friendly and enthusiastic

ü  Able to address any questions about the live auction items.

ü  Thank guests for supporting the Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation

Raven’s Ball Attire:

All volunteers will be asked to wear a black tuxedo, suit or evening gown/dress and you will be provided a colored lanyard that will identify you as a volunteer.

Tips:

ü  Be aware of the time and know where you should be.

ü  Keep personal cell use to a minimum, keep focus on guests.

ü  Please refrain from drinking alcohol during your volunteer service.

ü  Wear comfortable shoes, or have a backup pair of comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet a lot.
