FADE IN:
EXT./INT. JEFFERSON JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL – MORNING
STUDENTS walk onto campus on the first day of school.
Groups of large developed BOYS congregate in groups. They are talking, laughing, wrestling around with each other.
Groups of tall, beautiful, developed GIRLS congregate in groups talking, giggling and watching the groups of boys with interest.
JAMES walks on campus. He is shorter and much less developed than the boys. He is goggling at the girls. Then he spots MANDY.
Mandy is tall, tanned, with long flowing hair. She is beautiful in an exotic way and outshines the rest of the girls.
JOSH
(nasally)
She is pretty cute, isn’t she?
JOSH is a short scrawny Italian boy with messy black hair and a nasally voice. He is James’ friend.
James barely hears him. He continues to stare at Mandy.
JOSH
Give it up man. She is way out
of your league.
James gives Josh a push and starts to follow Mandy into the hall of the school. The hallway is crowded with students.
JOSH
Besides, I hear she prefers
Italian men.
JAMES
(chuckles)
I’ll let her know when I find
one.
This time Josh pushes James.
JAMES
Anyway, She won’t be out of my
league for long.
Josh eyes his friend suspiciously.
JAMES
We just have to do something.
right now we’re nothing. People
don’t even see us.
A LARGE BOY walks right through Josh leaving behind spilled books and papers flying through the air.
James kneels next to his friend. He helps him pick up his stuff as he calls out to the older boy.
JAMES
Punk!
He is ignored.
James looks back at Josh.
JAMES
Look man, I could care less if
I was an elf as long as She thought
Elves were cool.
He nods to where Mandy stands in her group of older boys and girls.
JOSH
I know! We could volunteer to be
practice dummies in their personal
obstacle course. They could walk
down the hall and show their friends
Josh pushes out his chest and uses an overly low voice.
JOSH
“See here…that stain on the ground
was Josh, he was such a great dummy.
And this stain, over here is where
the great and beautiful Mandy
accidentally stepped on James’
little heart because she didn’t
notice he was standing underfoot.”
They both stand and look at each other.
JAMES
You’re such a jerk.
James knocks all Josh’s books out of his hand again. Papers fly in all directions.
James starts walking down the hall. He yells over his shoulder.
JAMES
We will make our mark…and not the
way you’re describing!
INT. HONORS ENGLISH CLASS – DAY (LATER IN THE YEAR)
THE TEACHER is teaching a lesson.
Mandy is sitting and writing on the lesson.
James is sitting a couple rows behind her and stares at Mandy, his note sheet is blank.
Josh is sitting in the desk next to James and glances at him, then at Mandy. He shakes his head.
The bell rings and the students get up and leave into the hallway.
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY – DAY
James and Josh are walking together in the crowded hallway.
They stop at their lockers to change books for the next class.
James, as usual, is gawking at Mandy.
JOSH
You do realize that you have

James doesn’t respond.
JOSH
While you’ve been pining after
Mandy for the last few months,
I’ve even gotten to kiss a girl.
James tears his eyes away from Mandy and gives his friend a scathing look.
James

INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY – DAY (A WEEK EARLIER)
Josh taps a GIRL on the shoulder.
She turns and Josh kisses her on the lips.
Josh turns to run but the girl trips him.
She suddenly looks much bigger than Josh.
KISSED GIRL
You slimy little shit!
She picks him up by the collar of his shirt and the back of his jeans.
JOSH
NO NO NO. I’m sorry. I’m Sorry!
She rams his head into a closed locker. Then backs him up to do this again.
James runs to Josh’s aid.
JAMES
HEY! Calm down! Let him go!
James reaches for her hand to help release Josh.
She grabs James hand and then twists both James and Josh into a little knot.
Girl is then sitting on top of both of them while everyone in the hallway is pointing and laughing.
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY – DAY (PRESENT)
James is still looking scathingly at Josh.
JAMES
I hardly count that as a kiss.
Josh ducks his head at the embarrassing memory.
James softens his look and pats Josh’s back.
JAMES
Hey! It was a good attempt though.
But I have it all figured out,
Anyway!
Josh looks at James a little hesitant.
James looks back with a not-quite-sane look of enthusiasm.
They close their lockers and start walking.
JAMES
What is it that every person
in JR High wants to do but they
aren’t allowed to?
Josh looks confused, Then stunning realization hits. Josh gets a BIG grin on his face.
James punches him in the arm. Hard.
JAMES
Christ, Josh! I’m talking about
Driving.
JOSH
Driving?
JAMES
Yes! See, I have found out how
We can make our mark. I let slip
That we know how to drive.
JOSH
So?
JAMES
(incredulous)
SOOO? The mere mention that
I knew how to drive sent this
Older kid into a jealous frenzy.
JOSH
But we don’t know how to dri --
James covers Josh’s mouth and pushes him against a locker.
James looks around to make sure no one heard then turns back to Josh.
JAMES
(whispering)
I KNOW WE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!
But they don’t.
James Nods to the rest of the crowded hallway.
James and Josh start walking again.
Suddenly, Josh notices that some of the older kids are looking at them. Some are pointing and talking to each other.
Josh looks at James.
James has a too-smug look on his face. He is strutting.
Josh groans.
JAMES
Already you can see what effect
This is having. We are no longer
Invisible. They are curious.
Josh groans louder.
JAMES
What?! How can this not work out

JOSH
Aaaggghh!
REESE, an older boy has grabbed James and Josh.
They are pulled into a circle of older kids.
Mandy is in this circle
JAMES
Uh, Hey there.
Reese scowls
REESE
Dave said you KIDS think you
Know how to drive.
James straightens up and puffs out his chest.
Josh is groans again.
JAMES
Dave is right. We do know how
To drive.
JOSH
(mumbles)
Stain on the floor. A Big Red Stain.
DAVE smiles like a hunter who has captured a rabbit.
DAVE
Well, We are throwing a party this
Friday night. Why don’t you two
Just Drive on by.
The circle of kids all look at James.
James looks at Josh.
Josh looks back, scared.
James smiles and turns back.
Josh groans.
JAMES
We’ll be there, say midnight.
I think we’ll bring the Porsche
This time. What do you say, Josh?
There is a stunned moment of silence.
Josh’s jaw drops open.
REESE
No Way!
DAVE
Bullshit!
MANDY
That is SO Cool!
Mandy looks at James and smiles.
James looks triumphant.
JAMES
(with a squeaking voice)
Well…
James clears his throat.
JAMES
Well, we will see you all
on Friday, then.
James starts to walk away. He backs up, grabs Josh by the neck. And then walks away again.
EXT – DRIVEWAY JAMES’ HOUSE – NIGHT
James’ MOM and DAD are in a running car in the driveway.
James and Josh are standing next to the passenger window.
Josh looks a little nervous.
James is almost bouncing with anticipation for tonight.
MOM
I am so glad you were able to
Stay with James, Josh. I feel
So much better having someone
stay with our little Jamie.
I hated leaving him by himself.
DAD
Yeah, Jamie has always been a
little afraid of new situations
like this.
JOSH
I can understand why.
James kicks Josh in the shin.
JOSH

JAMES
OK. . .enough of embarrassing me
To death! Don’t you guys have

Parents look at each other with a knowing smile.
DAD
You two have fun. Stay out of trouble.
Dad starts to drive away.
Mom is still yelling out the window.
MOM
There is food in the Fridge.
I left enough money on the
Counter for extras. The phone

The rest is lost as the car drives out of hearing range.
James is rubbing his hands together and laughing.
Josh is watching the car disappear into the distance. He has a scared look on his face.
INT. JAMES’ HOUSE – NIGHT
There is an empty pizza box on the table.
James is eating the last piece of pizza.
Josh is sitting at the table with his head in his hands.
JAMES
You OK there, buddy? You
Barely ate anything.
JOSH
We’re going to die tonight.
I am just praying for my
Soul.
JAMES
No one is dying. I have driven
the Porsche millions of times.
Josh lifts his head and looks at James.
JAMES
OK. I have driven it twice
around the block. But it was
really easy. We won’t have any
problems.
Josh drops his head on his hands again and moans.
James grabs his arm and drags him outside.
INT./EXT. JAMES’ GARAGE – NIGHT
James walks Josh out to the front of the Garage and points him toward the closed door.
Dramatically, James points the opener to the garage and pushes the button.
Garage door opens to reveal 1990 Porsche 9285. It is a pristine Red with tan leather seats. It shines in the garage lights.
James holds up the keys. He walks to the passenger side and opens up the door.
Josh’s eyes light up as he walks over and sits down. He starts to smile.
James gets in the driver side. He smiles at Josh and turns on the car.
He revs it up a few times.
JAMES
Let’s Roll!
The Porsche speeds out of the garage and down the street. It screeches to a stop at the stop sign.
INT. PORSCHE – NIGHT
Josh looks at James.
JAMES
Sorry.
The Porsche moves forward from the stop sign at a safer, more normal, speed.
EXT. REESE’S HOUSE – MIDNIGHT
James and Josh sit in the Porsche in front of the house.
The house is completely dark. There is no Party going on.
INT. PORSCHE – MIDNIGHT
Both James and Josh are staring at the house. Their faces are crushed.
JOSH
Maybe it was another night…or
We have the wrong house.
JAMES
They said tonight. And we have
Driven around the area 5 times.
This is the house. We were duped.
EXT. REESE’S HOUSE – MIDNIGHT
The Porsche peels out and away from the house.
INT. JAMES’ BEDROOM – MORNING
James walks in and pulls the covers off Josh.
JAMES
Wake up! We can’t let this go.
They will know we can drive by
Monday. We just can’t let this
Go.
Josh sits up tiredly.
JOSH
Wh..time’s it?
JAMES
It’s 7 in the morning.
Let’s go.
JOSH
But what bout their parents.
JAMES
Screw their parents. They
Will not ruin this. They
Can’t ruin this.
JOSH
What about your parents?
JAMES
They are gone until tomorrow.
Now get up. Let’s go!
James walks out of the room.
EXT. DRIVEWAY JAMES’ HOUSE – MORNING
James and Josh are standing in the driveway.
It is raining. The garage door is open.
Josh is looking up at the rain.
Josh is standing in the rain looking at the shiny sparkling Porsche.
JOSH
Are you sure we should
Take the Porsche out in this?
JAMES
Time for plan B.
James walks toward the side of his house.
A loud rumble is heard.
A minute later a HUGE black suburban with extra large tires and a lift kit rumbles into view from a side gate.
The monster Truck tracks mud onto the driveway.
JOSH
What did I do to deserve this
GOD…Was I really this bad?
James is waving for Josh to get in.
Josh crosses himself and runs to the passenger door.
The truck lurches forward as James tries to help Josh up. Then they finally get Josh in.
As they drive away, the truck turns onto a dirt road.
JAMES (O.S.)
See we’ll just take the side roads.
No problems.
EXT. OFF ROAD HILLS – DAY
The truck pulls from some muddy dirt road onto a gravel path and fishtails to a stop.
The truck is covered in mud, and the windows are down. Hard rock music is playing loudly.
The front window has signs of attempted cleaning but visibility is definitely low.
INT. TRUCK – DAY
James and Josh along with the interior of the truck are very muddy and dirty. They are both laughing uncontrollably.
JOSH
That was so awesome, man!
JAMES
Whhhoooooohoooo!
JOSH
