GRADUATION EVENTS INFORMATION
GRAD FEE 2017
· The graduation fee for 2017 is $60.00. Due by May 29, 2017. The fee must be paid before receiving graduation invitations and before attending the graduation banquet/ceremony.
· The $60 fee helps to cover the cost of the diploma covers, keepsake tassels, dry cleaning of graduation gowns, 3 banquet meals and a safe grad t-shirt. These items total approximately $120. Money from class fundraising is used to pay the difference if students have participated in fundraising.
PHOTOGRAPHY
· Corinne Arseneau, photographer, will be taking orders for a package of photos from our graduation events. She takes hundreds of photos of everyone attending each event. Graduates can pose with friends and family and she takes many behind the scenes photos as well.
· Order forms are attached and must be returned to the school by June 2, 2017.
A DRESS CODE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR GRADUATION EVENTS. PLEASE USE THESE GUIDELINES WHEN PREPARING FOR EACH EVENT. DRESS CODE IS ATTACHED.
PROM & GRAND MARCH
FRIDAY, JUNE 9, 2017 @ 7 PM SHARP CNBA GYMNASIUM
No flowers are provided to grand march participants. It is a personal choice to order.
The prom committee are making plans for “The Academy Awards” themed prom. We require parents to supervise students during prom decorating. Parents will need to complete a policy 701 and obtain a Criminal Record Check from the RCMP.

GRAND MARCH
· Any student, who is suspended from school, has not fulfilled detention obligations or has not paid all school fees, is not allowed to participate in grand march or prom.
· Any student participating in Grand March or Prom must be present at school on Friday, June 9th. There will be a final Grand March practice at 8:45 a.m.; therefore all students must be in attendance.
· Reserved seating for Grand March – each graduate receives 4 FREE reserved floor seating cards. The card must be presented at the door to enter the gymnasium.
· Additional seating tickets are available for purchase at a cost of $5 each. Each graduate may purchase up to 8 tickets beginning on May 16th. On May 23rd, any tickets not sold, will be sold from the school office to anyone who wants to purchase, including graduates, until all are sold.
· Seating tickets, free or purchased, must be presented at the door to enter the gymnasium.
· Grand March tickets will not be sold at the door.
· Grand March will begin at 7 pm. We ask all spectators to be in their seats by 6:50 pm.
· Graduates and escorts will gather in the cafeteria for a group photo at 6:45 pm.
PROM TICKET SALES
· Grad & Escort, FREE; CNBA students in grades 9-11 $10.00; Students from other schools $15.00. Please purchase tickets from Nekeisha Lyons
· Prom Ticket sales will end on Friday, June 2, 2017 for CNBA students. All guest names for the prom will be reviewed by administration for final approval. School Administration has the right to refuse any guest from participating in grand march and prom. All school rules apply at the grand march and prom. All grads, escorts and guests will be searched upon entering the prom.
· Prom begins at 9 pm; doors close at 9:30 pm. Graduates who participate in grand march are expected to attend prom until 11:00 pm. Please see Mrs. Long before June 8th if this is a concern for you or your parents.
· The Grad Escort list must be given to administration for approval by Friday, May 19th, 2017. Grad escorts should be no older than 21 years of age. Graduates should choose their escort wisely. Grads are responsible for their escort’s actions.
GRAD/ESCORT/GROUP PHOTOS
· Times will be booked for Harvey’s Studios to take photos of graduates and escorts. These times will be posted in each homeroom. Let Michelle or Anita know if you are travelling with another couple to the grand march so that times can be booked appropriately. Time slots will be done through random draw.
· Graduates and their escorts are asked to arrive at the school approximately 10 minutes before their appointment time. Please get dropped off on the circular driveway and arrange for someone to drive your vehicle away.
· Packages from Harvey’s Studios include 2 –5X7 photos and 8 wallet size photos for a cost of $20.00, Digital image $20.00, prints plus digital $30.00, group photo $15.00. If choosing digital option you must provide your email address. Photo money must be paid by June 2, 2017. Cash only please.
· At 6:45 pm, Harvey’s Studios will take a formal group photo of all graduates and their escorts.

GRAND MARCH PRACTICES
· Three practices will be held for Grand March: Wednesday, June 7th @ 3:30 pm for grade 12 only, Thursday, June 8 @ 7 pm for grade 12 and escorts and on the morning of Friday, June 9th for grade 12 students and any available escorts. Grade 12 students are to attend all of these practices and escorts are required to attend the Thursday evening practice.
· Grand March participants are to remain in the gymnasium at all times during practices and throughout the entire Grand March including photo opportunities.
BACCALAUREATE CHURCH SERVICE SUNDAY JUNE 18, 2017 @ 10:30 AM
ABUNDANT LIFE CHURCH PASTOR RON CARROLL
· Graduates are asked to arrive at the church by 10:15 am.
· We have asked the church to accommodate 150 people. Graduates and their parents/ guardians are welcome to attend the church service. Please let the office know if you will be attending.
GRADUATION BANQUET SUNDAY., JUNE 19, 2017 @ 12:30 PM
ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION DOAKTOWN
· The Graduation Banquet is held in honour of graduates and their parents/guardians.
· Included in the grad fee are tickets for the graduate and 2 parent/guardians.
· Please complete the attached sheet concerning the banquet and return to the office by May 19, 2017.
· We do not want to pay for meals that will not be eaten. If you and/or parents/guardians are not attending the banquet, please let your homeroom teacher know.
· A graduate may purchase up to 2 more parent/guardian banquet meals at a cost of $15 per person if necessary. See Office to make arrangements.
GRADUATION CEREMONY THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 2017 @ 7 PM CNBA GYMNASIUM
GRADUATION INVITATIONS
· Each graduate can invite 12 people to graduation. Two of the 12 seats will be in a preferred seating section near the stage. Each graduate will receive 2 preferred seating invitations, and 10 floor/bleacher seats. The preferred seating section is intended for parents of the graduates.
· The Grandparents section will be behind preferred seating section.
· Invitations will be available for pickup by June 12th.
GRADUATION REHEARSAL
· Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 2 pm; this practice is MANDATORY for all graduates.
· Graduation speeches will be practiced at the end of rehearsal.
· All speeches must be submitted to office by June 16th, 2017
GRADUATION CEREMONY
· Graduates need to arrive by 6:15pm.
· Graduates can pick up a graduation gown, graduation hat and flowers from the music room and then assemble in the cafeteria.
· The gown and hat must be returned to the music room following the graduation. Graduates will receive an envelope containing their report card, tassels, yearbook photos and any awards from graduation upon returning the hat and gown.
· Graduates that are participating in Safe Grad must stay in the building following graduation.
SAFE GRAD THURSDAY, JUNE 22, FOLLOWING GRADUATION
· Graduates and teacher chaperones will attend. A Safe Grad contract must be signed.
· Chaperones, administration, and/or RCMP officers will perform appropriate personal checks of belongings.
· Information packet and safe grad contract will follow at a later date.
CNBA GRADUATION EVENT DRESS CODE
Graduation activities are held by CNBA staff in your honor. You are our guest at these events therefore as a guest you need to respect the expectations of staff. As a host we will provide you an enjoyable event. We ask that he/she adhere to the following dress code guidelines.
