Subject: Agriculture Mechanics and Technology II
Class runs for the entire school year. (If the Mayan Indian Calendar is wrong)
The purpose of the class is to learn safety and technical skills related to woodworking and small engines for pursuing careers, hobbies, and interests in the field of agriculture mechanics.
Class Rules
1. Be on time and prepared for class.(You will be written up after third unexcused tardy)
2. ALWAYS have paper and pencil/pen.
3. Be respectful of others and their property
4. Observe all rules outlined in the student handbook.
5. NO ONE is allowed on the computers at any time unless permission is given by the teacher. School Rules always apply for computer use.
6. Students not to be in the shop area of the classroom without teacher permission.
7. Keep Feet on floor and off of desk and backs of chairs.
Shop Rules
1. No Horseplay
2. Do not use tools without permission
3. Only use tools in your work area
4. Return all tools to their proper place at the end of the class period.
5. Help clean work area at end of class along with assigned duties.
6. Do not leave shop without permission.
7. Observe rules as outlined in the student handbook.
Grading Outline for Agriculture Education Classes
70% classroom instruction and lab activities (ex: Participation, Test, Quiz, Daily Grades,
Projects, and Homework Grades)
10% Leadership (Participate in a minimum of two FFA activities per Quarter or alternate
assignments will be given each quarter)
15-20% Exams – Can be over content from entire semester. (Refer to student handbook
for Exam policy.
Discipline procedures (students will be punished depending on the severity of the offense)
1. Warning is given for minor offenses.
2. Disrespect, class disruption, and property damage and any continued minor offense will be handled by classroom punishment. (writing assignments; sent out of room, or other class assignments or duties).
3. Detention assigned and parent contact if needed.
4. Write ups will be used if needed or refusal to complete classroom disciplinary action.
