Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen Scholarship
2014 Scholarship Guidelines
In Addition to the Application,
1. Applications must be returned to the Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen Association President, Taylor Braungardt and be postmarked by March 10, 2014, to be considered.
2. Applicant must submit three (3) letters of recommendation. Letters should be included with the application.
3. Applicant must be a high school senior or college student and have a GPA of 2.5/4.0 or better. Applicant must be a Lincoln or Pike County resident. Emphasis will be given to student seeking Ag-Related Degree.
4. Applicant must submit, with the application, the most recent available high school transcript to Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen Association for proof of grade point average and enrollment.
5. Applicant must demonstrate leadership potential through extracurricular activities and work experiences.
6. Preference may be given to students who plan to/are attending Missouri colleges and universities. Preference will also be given to those who have a need for financial assistance.
7. Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen Scholarship Committee will review applications and scholarship recipients will be notified regarding the committee’s decision by mail or phone on or before March 24, 2014.
8. Unless otherwise noted, all Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen scholarships will be $1,000.
9. Scholarships will be payable during the calendar year 2014. To redeem scholarship, recipients must provide Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen Association with proof of college enrollment. Funds for scholarships will be sent directly to the recipients’ institutions. In the event a recipient does not use all of the funding, the unused portion shall be returned to Lincoln/Pike County Cattlemen Association.
Note to applicants:
§ Please use the original form as mailed or provided by school counselor.
§ Applications MUST be typed. Points will be taken off for handwritten applications.
§ Use only the space provided. No additional pages should be added, except where specified (i.e. essay, transcript). Resumes and/or extra pages will not be forwarded to the judges.
§ Please mail application packet in an appropriate-sized, flat envelope and with appropriate postage.
§ It is not necessary to staple, specially bind application materials or use special paper, color ink or graphics. Applications will be photocopied and provided to the selection committee in black and white. § Applications will be scored using the following point system: Communication – 20 points; Leadership – 20 points; Community Involvement – 15 points; Agricultural Involvement – 15 points; Scholastic/Academic – 10 points; Financial Need – 10 points; and General Impression – 10 points.
