Teaching English in China

Paid Internship opportunity in China:

The English Teaching Internship Programme offered by the Chinese Society of Education Training Centre (CSETC) focuses on teaching conversational English to Chinese students mainly in Beijing and occasionally, via the CSE membership, in the public schools located in attractive small cities with splendid regional cultural heritages and scenes throughout China. This Internship Programme offers an outstanding opportunity for college students or graduates willing to expand their resume, skills and global experience. It is also attractive to international business students or graduates who want to explore the fastest growing economy in the world. Both native English-speakers and non-native English-speakers excelled in English communication and sophisticated in English articulation are eligible and welcomed to this project through which one may complete the practice in an authentic cross cultural setting and fulfill the college internship requirements as well.

This particular internship is a great opportunity for interns to learn the basic fundamentals of education and teaching while gaining some knowledge and experience about Chinese language and culture. Those who apply to this internship will have a challenging and enlightening experience in a multicultural environment. As they get experience in multiple areas, they will also provide our Chinese students the opportunity to interact with native English speakers.

The interns will have the opportunity to live in Beijing and travel to other provinces to teach English. After they finish their daily assignments they will be free to go around on their own. The local schools will arrange sight seeing trips for the interns once they finish their teaching job in the province.

Interns will have free time during the evening and weekends. While CSETC does not cover any activities outside of those involved with the internship programme, there are still a number of interesting sites to discover throughout China. Free time is an opportunity for self-discovery and learning. CSETC local coordinators can provide useful assistance and information regarding booking various travel arrangements within this wonderfully ancient country. Interns will have numerous opportunities to explore China’s diverse landscapes, astounding histories, awe-inspiring landmarks (temples, shrines, Great Wall of China), and countless museums.

MAKE

CHINESE DUMPLINGS VISIT ZHAOZHOU BRIDGE IN HEBEI PROVINCE

Interns admitted to the CSETC internship programme will have to teach (16) hours of conversational English a week. In exchange, the CSETC will offer interns:

·  CSETC will reimburse interns for 50% of the cost of their international round-trip airfare to Beijing.

·  6 Chinese Classes per week for 10 weeks which is equivalent to two semesters of Chinese language study at an American University.

·  Live and study in Beijing, and visit other provinces.

·  Improve your understanding of Chinese Language, Culture, and History.

·  Full accommodation. The interns will live in a furnished one-bedroom apartment, a shared one-bedroom apartment inside the CSTEC campus, or live with a Chinese family.

·  A monthly grocery stipend of 4500RMB which will cover most living costs in China.

·  Free pick-up and drop-off from and to Beijing Capital Airport.

·  Transportation from and to Beijing when the interns travel to other provinces to teach English in local schools. The local schools will also provide accommodation and meals.

l  ESL (English as a Second Language) training and classroom experience

l  Numerous and continual opportunities to interact with local Chinese.

The internship does not include:

l  International air tickets will be purchased by the intern. CSETC will reimburse for 50% of the cost of airfare to Beijing.

l  Visa expenses. The CSETC will provide an invitation letter. The visa issuing fees will have to be covered by the intern.

l  Personal expenditures like phone charges, transportation fees, pocket money, etc.

l  Medical insurance. Interns must provide their own medical insurance before arriving to Beijing.
