Al’Shondra Harris Girl Scout College Book Scholarship

In honor of Patricia Caulton

AWARD: $250 Scholarship (2 per year)

Application Requirements:

  • Must have earned the Girl Scout Gold Award and be a High School Senior at the time of application or a recent High School graduate.
  • Must have a 2.75 PA or higher (provide copy of transcript)
  • Must have demonstration of practical citizenship in Girl Scouting, school, community and religious institution.
  • Must submit at least two letters of recommendations with application from individuals representing one of the following: your church, school, community, or scout troop leader.
  • Submit a 500-word essay describing how your Gold Award Project will have a lasting impact on the community.

Selection Process:

This application and your essay must be presented to the Columbus Girl Scout office, Attention Devon Mastromarino [DM1]ON OR BEFORE August 1st, 2017.

The Gold Award Committee will judge applications and essays. The successful applicant will be notified on or before August 15th[DM2].

Conditions of the Scholarship:

The scholarship recipient will be eligible to receive her scholarship after graduation from High school and must utilize the award within one year of graduation or of award.

The scholarship must be used to attend a school which is accredited and above the high school level, and within the United States. Except, in the case where the recipient may be from a territory of the United States, in which case she may select a school in that territory.

The disbursement of $250.00 will be made directly to the student once verification of registration and full-time status for the term in which the funds will be issued.
