Desertification Information Brochure
We have investigated a number of biomes so far in this course. This assignment looks at the desert biome and investigates a significant issue impacting on that biome – desertification. Desertification is the formation or expansion of deserts, whether by natural causes or human activity. Despite the reality that millions of people are adversely affected by the processes of desertification, most people are still unaware of this issue.
Your task is to develop an informational brochure to inform Canadians about this issue (here in Canada AND around the world).
Your brochure should include:
a) an interesting and eye-catching title page
b) several pictures depicting the problems or solutions associated with desertification (spread around the brochure)
c) include several important/interesting facts about desertification
d) a good definition of desertification
e) information on the causes of desertification
f) information on the consequences of desertification
g) an outline or summary of THREE programs that have been developed to combat desertification in selected countries – be sure to identify the countries
h) a bibliography of the sources used (This can be handed in on a separate page).
Your brochure should be factual, informative and professionally presented.
