2015 - 2016

REQUIREMENTS

In order to complete the 27J New Teacher Network Induction Program and receive your certificate of completion, the following expectations must be met:

1 YEAR PLAN

Initial License:

  • Attend the five compensated orientation days for new teachers.
  • Attend one 6 night PD session (NTN) and 3 cohort nights.
  • Participate in two observations of peers and write a short reflection after each observation to post on the online learning website.
  • Reflect each quarter on your teaching, classroom, and students focusing on the questions you have and changes you will make for next year. Post your reflection on the online learning website
  • Respond to four posted reflections.
  • Mentor Interactions

Professional License:

  • Attend the five compensated orientation days for new teachers
  • Attend any 6 night PD session

3 night cohort (optional)

  • Participate in two observations of peers and write a short reflection after each observation to post on the online learning website.
  • Reflect each quarter on your teaching, classroom, and students focusing on the questions you have and changes you will make for next year. Post your reflection on the online learning website
  • Respond to four posted reflections.
  • Mentor Interactions

Special Service Providers:

  • Attend the five compensated orientation days for new teachers (New Teacher Orientation NTO).
  • Complete 22.5 off contract hours of customized Professional Development.
  • The customization of an individual SSP PD plan must be developed in cooperation with the SSP’s Supervisor.
  • Complete written reflections on how your participation/engagement within your individualized PD plan benefited your professional growth/knowledge by linking it back to your specific role/job within SD27J.
  • You must track the hours/time spent engaged in the PD activity and obtain supervisor signature – attach to reflections journal/documents.
  • Participate in two observations with peers and write a short reflection after each observation to post on the online learning website.
  • Reflect each quarter on your work as a SSP related to the impact your work has on the classroom – what is the educational benefit of your interaction with staff and students that positively affects student outcomes?

Your reflection should focus on the questions you have about your impact and ideas related to possible changes in your work with students, staff, parents, etc. you would consider for next year. Post your reflection on the online learning website

  • Respond to four posted reflections of your peers or others within the network.

Counselor Induction Requirements:

  • Attend day 1 of New Teacher Orientation.
  • Attend one 6 night District PD session and 7.5 hours of customized learning.
  • Participate in two observations of peers and write a short reflection after each observation to post on the online learning website.
  • Reflect each quarter on your teaching, classroom, and students focusing on the questions you have and changes you will make for next year. Post your reflection on the online learning website
  • Respond to four posted reflections.
  • Mentor Interactions
