Retirees’ Club June Minutes

The meeting was held in Room 102B of the Maverick Activity Center (MAC) on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Retirees gathered at 10am for coffee and pastries. Frank Gault, club president, announced the new officers for 2013-14 school year and Josie O’quinn installed the new officers: Frank Gault, President; Larry Barcroft, Vice-President for Membership; Bob Wegner, Vice-President for Programs, Joyce Palmer, Treasurer and Rosanne Minyard, Secretary.

Bob Wegner handed out a survey of program interests for next year and asked that everyone rate the possible programs and then hand in the survey before leaving. He will then try to get speakers for the most popular programs.

Yvette Rodriguez and Victoria Zamora from Human Resources were on hand to explain the changes in the insurance benefits for next year. There will be an increase for dependent health coverage (to be determined) but no increase for dental, vision, or life insurance. There will be a “benefits fair” on July 17th and annual enrollment is July 15-31st. The payment for retiree insurance will change to monthly and you must fill out and return a direct payment form in order to have auto pay. Payment with a credit card is not available. If you don’t want to make any changes you do not have to do anything. If you are a dependent and the retiree dies, you can still be covered under the group insurance but the premium sharing does not continue. Informational materials were available at the end of the meeting. For questions, e-mail or .
