Ducati2_HD (A1-840) SW download SOP

（v2.1）

V2.0  modify Service ROM content. And add Emergency download procedure.

V2.1 modify Service Rom content again. Update boot file to solve sometimes modify S/N or WiFi mac, or BT mac can not work issue. Service ROM package name modify to “Service ROM_UEFI106_v2.zip” . There is no change in procedure.

Pre-condition

To download Ducati2_HDimage, We shall have a PC with Windows OS system.(XP, Vista, Win7, support x64 & x32). We shall install Acer download tool(v14). Then reboot the PC. Here is the detail step:

Install ADB USB driver (Ducati2HD_usb_driver_installerV1.0)

Unzip shipping image or Service ROM(factory image) , and move them under D:\

Shipping image download step

  1. [ON PC]：Unzip “Acer_DownloadTool_V14.00_exe_CSD.zip” folder. Go into folder, execute “acer_DownloadTool.exe” directly.(Double click it). Go to Intel page. You will see as below picture.

  1. [ON PC]：Acer Download Tool：Click “Select” button, go to folder where image is put.
  2. [ON PC]：Acer Download Tool：check “skip droidboot reboot” option. It would pop-up a warning message, clect “Yes”

  1. [OnTablet]：Please power on Tablet. Set tablet to never sleep.(setting -> Display -> sleep -> select “Never”)
  2. [OnTablet]：Enable user debug mode.(setting -> about tablet -> click build number many times quickly -> Tablet will show “You are now a developer” -> go to previous page -> developer options -> turn on developer options -> check “USB debugging” option.
  3. [OnPC]：Connect tablet with PC via USB cable. Acer download tool will found this tablet on ADB section. Now, click “Start” to download image. (In Device manager of PC, you can find a “ACER composite ADB Interface” under “Acer Phone”

  1. [OnTablet]：You would see below message on Tablet, check “Always allow from this computer”, and click “OK”

  1. [On PC]：You will see below message, click OK(Yes).

  1. [On PC]：Acer download tool: You will see green bar go to 100%, and show message”All process Done!”. Now, we’ve complete shipping image download step.
  2. [On Tablet]：Tablet will take a few minutes to re-load image and reboot itself. Finally, it will boot to shipping image, to the first page of OOBE.

  1. If you fail to download image(encounter some problems during download), you can got to “acer_DownloadTool_V14.00_exe_CSD”, go into it, you will find log files under “LogFile”folder. Please send logs to Acer HQ CSD for analysis.

Download shipping image by Emergency mode.

Prepare：To load image via Emergency mode, PC need to install tablet DNX mode driver.

How to check?  Please refer below step6, to enter DNX mode, and connect tablet with PC. On PC open device manager, check whether any un-know device in device manager or not. If a un-know device is found, this must be the tablet. Need to install driver first.

How to install driver Select this un-know device, and update it’s driver,  select driver from current computer  manually select from current existing driver list  Choose ADB category,  choose Android Fast boot Interface, Install it. After installed, Device manager would show like below. Then, long press power key to power off Tablet, and dis-connect Tablet with PC.

  1. [On PC]：Open Acer download tool, select “Emergency/DNX Download”. It will pop-up a warning window, Select “Yes”.
  1. [On PC]：In Acer download tool, select a shipping image BIN folder.
  2. [On Tablet]：Power off Tablet,
  3. [On PC]：In Acer download tool, Click “Start” . Then after a while, PC will pop-up a window like below (right side, blue color) it says”Device not found”
  1. [On Tablet]：Power off Tablet. Then, boot tablet to DNX mode (press vol_down keyand vol_up key together, hold them for 2 seconds, then press power-key and hold all three keys together. Then, tablet will vibrate, and we can see Acer logo on screen. Now we can release power-key, but still need to hold vol_down and vol_up key for 3 more seconds. Then release vol_down and vol_up key. Tablet should boot to DNX.) as below picture. After you see below picture, connect tablet with PC via USB cable.
  1. [On PC]：In Acer download tool, the small window will say it found an Emergency download object , Click “OK”. Then, it will start download. And finally, the download will be compoete.
  2. Done!!

Service ROM download step

Service ROM, we can call it factory image or user-debug image here. Here is the steps to load image.

Here, the tool we use is：PhoneFlashTool_4.4.3.0_win32.exe.

And service ROM image Build number is：Acer_A1-840_F201407304_WW_GEN1

  1. [On PC]：Install “PhoneFlashTool_4.4.3.0_win32.exe” and it’s related driver.
  2. [On PC]：execute “PhoneFlashTool_4.4.3.0_win32.exe” . Select log level to “debug” in order to get more logs as below picture.
  1. [On Tablet]：Power off Tablet. Then, boot tablet to DNX mode (press vol_down keyand vol_up key together, hold them for 2 seconds, then press power-key and hold all three keys together. Then, tablet will vibrate, and we can see Acer logo on screen. Now we can release power-key, but still need to hold vol_down and vol_up key for 3 more seconds. Then release vol_down and vol_up key. Tablet should boot to DNX.) as below picture.
  1. [On PC]：Connect tablet with PC via USB cable. In Device manager of PC, you can find a “Intel Android ADB Interface” under “Acer Phone”
  1. [On PC]：PhoneFlashTool_4.4.3.0：use “Browse” icon to load Service ROM.Select “ducati2HD_PFT_DNX_1.0.6.xml”, press OK. It will like below picture.. Then, click “Start to flash” . Now PhoneFlashTool is loading image…
  1. [On PC]：After a few minutes, Service ROM image will complete downloaded as below picture. Tablet will boot to desk top of factory image Done and Completed.
