Welcome to Family Ski Company

First Evening – Ourresort team willvisit you in your chalet to explain more about our service, ski school and childcare arrangements. They will also answer any questions you may have. There will be some forms relating to childcare which you will be asked to complete. If you have pre-ordered lift passes then these will be delivered to you and any babycare items that you may have pre-ordered should be in your room waiting for you.

Euro Bar – Our staff run an honesty bar with beer, soft drinks, mixers and a selection of chocolate bars available in each chalet. As it is the resort staff who run this they will explain how the system works.

Champagne- In addition to the bottled house wines that are available with your evening meal, we also offer champagne and Bollinger for those special occasions (please ask for prices).

Ski Lift Passes – We recommend pre-ordering & paying for your lift passes to avoid waiting in long queues on the first morning before ski school. Details on how to pre-order these will be sent to you before your holiday. Passes will then be delivered to you in your chalet on the first evening. Please note: lift passes in Reberty are FREE for children aged 4 years and under in Les Coches 5years and under go FREE. If you are going to Reberty or Les Coches please order passes for children even if they do not need to pay – children will need a pass to use the lifts and you may need to show proof of age to obtain these. In Reberty we have to provide proof of age to obtain free child passes so we ask that you scan a copy of your child’s passport to at least 17 days before the start of your holiday. We regret that if you don’t do this we will be unable to get the passes on your behalf. If you want to take infants or babies on any of the lifts in Reberty or Les Coches then you will need to show a lift pass for them. In Ardent children aged 4 and under do not need a pass as they are allowed to duck under the lift barriers. We suggest that you put a copy of your child’s passport in their pocket in case they are challenged about their age although, in our experience, this is unlikely to happen.

Please be aware that our staff are unable topurchase lift passes for you when you are in resort so please ensure you pre-order.

Adult Group Ski Lessons – Children’s Ski lessons are included in the childcare clubs but for adults wishing to book group ski lessons these can be reserved before arrival in resort by calling us or completing your requirements on your booking confirmation page (follow the link from your booking confirmation e-mail) and making payment directly to the UK office. Please note adult group lessons are not available in Ardent during the first or last week of the season.

Babycare Packs - By popular request we are offering babycare packs for you to pre-order. To cut down on excess baggage and to make life easier you can order nappies, baby wipes & nappy sacks. A form can be sent to you for you to complete and return with payment at least 17 days before you travel. Please note: Whilst we endeavour to cater for your baby’s individual needs if he / she has a particular formula milk or food item that we may not be able to get in resort we recommend that you bring this with you.

General Information – We provide bed and cot linen, towels, bathmats & hand soaps. All chalets are equipped with everything needed for a holiday with babies & young children including microwaves, food blenders, bottle warmers, sterilizers, high chairs, travel cots, baby monitors, stair gates, night lights, socket covers and toilet steps. All chalets have a coffee machine, CD (with USB port for your MP3 player) and DVD player; most have a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Our Green Policy - We do offer a towel change mid-week – however, we are trying to adopt a Greener policy and therefore if you do not require a change of towel please inform your Chalet Host accordingly. On a Greener note we would also ask you to take care in the chalet to switch lights off at the end of the evening and ask for you to turn the heating down rather than opening windows. We also re-cycle as many items as possible.

Saunas – Please note that under French law children under the age of 16 are not permitted to enter a sauna.

Jacuzzi/Hot Tub – Children under 16 wishing to use the Jacuzzi or hot tub must have adult supervision at all times and do so at their own risk. Instructions for the use of the Jacuzzis and hot tubs will be displayed in each chalet and we ask you not to use any shampoos, soaps or gels. These are all strictly forbidden as they cause problems with filtration and water purity, and usually result in closure of the Jacuzzi for deep cleaning and maintenance.

Please note: Our saunas, Jacuzzis and hot tubs are checked twice daily and are deep cleaned on arrival and departure days and therefore may not be available for use on these days.

Sickness – In line with standard practice in UK crèches Family Ski Company cannot admit children suffering from vomiting, diarrhoea or other infectious conditions into our childcare clubs.

We also ask that you ensure your child is fully recovered and free from symptoms for 24 hours before returning them to childcare. It is our duty of care to other children, adults and staff in resort to limit the spread of any illnesses which means we will contact you and ask you to collect your child should they become ill whilst in our childcare clubs.

What to Bring – All children booked into our childcare clubs and crèches will require warm outdoor clothing including waterproof footwear as some of the day will be spent out in the snow and fresh air.

Please mark every item of your children’s clothing with their name as this helps us to sort things out at the end of the day! Hats, gloves, socks, goggles, sunglasses and sunscreen are all essential and we also recommend two–piece ski wear rather than all-in-one suits as they tend to be warmer and are easier for those all important toilet breaks!

Every child will be provided with one of our Family Ski Company bags to help them keep their belongings and clothing together; they can also take these home at the end of the holiday.

Most of our chalets have either tiled or wooden floors, therefore we recommend bringing slippers as we ask guests not to wear outdoor footwear in the chalets.

We provide a DVD player so if you have a favourite film then bring this along with you; we also have CD players with USB ports to allow connection with your I-Pod/MP3 player (please ensure you bring your cable to plug into the port). There is a toy box in each chalet with a small selection of children’s toys and board games but if you have a favourite game then we recommend bringing this with you and don’t forget your swimming costume if you have booked a chalet with a hot tub, Jacuzzi or sauna!
