ORGANIZATIONS SELECTED FOR TYSON INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

LOWELL, Ark. –United Way of Northwest Arkansas has selected the 20 student internship opportunities for the Tyson Summer Internship Program. 19 organizations were selected with Community Clinic garnering two open opportunities for the summer program. United Way of NWA is the recipient of a grant for$100,000 from Tyson Foods that will bring together college students and local nonprofits in Northwest Arkansas. The Tyson Summer Community InternshipProgram will provide an invaluable opportunity for select college students to gain professional experience in nonprofits while making a positive impact in local communities.
The 20 open positions range from Marketing Interns to an Immigrant Family Outreach Intern. A full list of the organizations and job postings will be listed below. Students who are selected to participate in this program will gain experience with diverse social issues while also playing a pivotal role in an organization that wouldn’t otherwise be able to fund a position without the grant
from Tyson.
“The creation of this program offers the professionals of tomorrow a unique opportunity to build their resume, while also adding value to the critical services nonprofit organizations provide in their communities,” said Garrett Dolan, senior manager, corporate social responsibility, Tyson Foods.
United Way of Northwest Arkansaswill oversee and administer the program.Twenty qualified students will receive internships at local nonprofit organizations.
“Opportunities like this are great examples of how corporations, nonprofits and institutions of higher education can collaborate on programs that deepen student learning and professional development while contributing to community work,” said Melody Timinsky, Vice President Community Impact for the United Way of Northwest Arkansas. “This program aligns with the United Way’s mission to unite our community by empowering people and improving lives.”
