Important Reminders

  • Please refer to Section 6 of the MTN MOP for information on the MTN publication process.
  • Aconcept proposal formis not required for the primary manuscript(s). For all other publications (e.g. manuscripts, abstracts), a concept should be submitted prior to publication development.
  • If the proposed concept requires the use of data from multiple MTN studies, the concept proposal needs to be submitted to and approved by ALL relevant PPCs.
  • All manuscripts, including journal articles, abstracts, meeting posters and presentations, must be reviewed and approved by the protocol publication committee (PPC), sponsors (DAIDS), and the MTN Manuscript Review Committee (MRC) prior to being submitted for publication or presentation.
  • The MTN-032 Protocol Publication Committee oversees the publication process. Members include:
  • Protocol Chairs/ Co-Chairs
  • DAIDS MO
  • RTI Statistician
  • FHI 360 Representatives
  • RTI Project Coordinator
  • Other members as appropriate (e.g. other representatives from the management team, etc.)
  • Authorship should be reflective of the collaborative contributions of all designated team members and in accordance with MTN publication policies and generally accepted authorship guidelines.
  • Submission of concepts for conferences should follow the timeline guidance located on the MTN website (
  • If the timeline is not up to date or any upcoming conferences is not listed on the timeline, please let FHI 360 know so the timeline can be updated in collaboration with Pitt LOC.
